1965 Mercedes Benz 404.1 Unimog Radio Truck

Up for auction is a 1965 Unimog radio truck. If you are looking for one, Then you already know what they are so I won't waste space describing them. Check google and you tube if you are not familiar with these trucks. Now onto this one.

The Good - It has very good military tires (see Pictures). The engine is healthy, I run a compression check and it was well within the normal range from MB service manual. Transmission shifts good and seems to be in good shape. Frame is solid, And serial # matches. It has a TN. title in my name. Previous ownerfixed brakes. (Problem Area on 404s) The top is almost new.

The Bad - It needs correct seats. They are available from 50 to 100 $. The cab has rust in the usual areas. See pictures. The engine needs tuning. It does not take gas well. I would start with replacing the military Ignition. (I hate those) The side curtains in the doors are in poor shape. The speedometer does not work. Previous owner said it had 33,000 on it, Not sure how he knew. It has a electric fuel pump, Original is still on the motor. The panel in the floor that bolts around the pedals is removed. (Its in the back) The bottom edge of floor pan needs to be straightened before the panel is installed. The tail lights need to be installed and hooked up. The brakes need adjusted. The bottom corner eyelets on the top are torn out, Shown in pictures. Should be fixable.I probably am forgetting something, It is over 50 years old so keep that in mind.
