Car description |
---|
1985 was the last year Mercedes built the W123 series 300TD station wagon . They made them from 1977-1985 and and only since 1981 with the turbo charger. The W123 series diesel cars were the most enduring and reliable cars Mercedes ever made. You often see them here on Ebay with 600k miles and still running well. If you keep maintaining this car properl, it could last you a lifetime.
This specific 300TD wagon was finished in " light ivory" ( MB color code 623) with Palomino color MB-tex interior. The body and the paint are in wonderful condition . There is no rust and the body is straight. The paint shines like on a much newer car. This car really stands out and i get compliments on it whenever i drive it. The interior was finished in Palomino and is in excellent condition as well. The seats in the front always had sheep skins on and they are like new. The carpet throughout the whole car has been re-done using the original german "tuft" carpet. It looks like new. The dash is still in good condition and even the wood panels still look wonderful.
But the best thing about this car is the way it drives. The W123 series was long known to be very reliable and economical. But with the introduction of the turb, they now also had enough power. This car has been maintained very well and it shows. Just within the last 1000 miles mile, we replaced the air cells for the self leveling suspension, installed new shocks for the rear gate, converted and charged the AC, replaced the rear axle shafts and did a full service with fluids and filters. This 300TD has great power in town and on the freeway. It is not slow at all and is a lot of fun to drive. It constantly cruises at 85-90 miles per hour while still getting 27mpg of diesel.
I did upload many detailed pictures and they can describe this wonderful classic car better than i can. If you have any more question, PLEASE ask ! I would prefer to sell this car locally to somebody who could actually come out and see it . But i would also be helpful with arranging shipping or an airport pick up ( LAX ) for an out of town winning bidder. Please have your funding in order and do your" due diligence" BEFORE placing a bid . This is a wonderful 31 year old classic car and it will be sold "as is" and WITOUT a warranty . This car has been well sorted and i would not hesitate to drive it across country at a moments notice. Feel free to send me a note and i will answer your questions promptly. Thank you for looking at my auction and good luck !!
