Car description |

You are looking at what I think is an excellent value for both the everyday driver, and budget minded collector as well. This 1980 Mercedes-Benz 240D is all original, down to the paint. One of the finer examples around today due to the fact it has never been repainted and is not a victim of rust being a southern vehicle. Also, thedesirability is increased due to the color combo as well as the fact it has the 4 speed manualtransmission (if you've ever driven one, you know why). Original owners manual, spare, car jack, some service records to boot. Runs and drives great, shifts nicely and brakes as it should. And while these are no power house turbo diesels, it is very pleasant to drive and I get comments on it every time I take her out. Gas mileage is outstanding.
The car is not perfect or a Barrett-Jacksonmuseum piece either, so if you are expecting that, please don't waste each others time. There is a couple of minor tears in the drivers sea, some cracks on the dash and again the paint is original so some of the clearcoat has faded. However, this is a complete original and rust free timeless classic certain to go up in value as these are becoming more and more rare to find in this condition.
Please feel free to call me with any questions about the car or come take a look or have your mechanic inspect it prior to bidding. I will happily answer any and all questions and send additional pics on request, again, communication is the key here and I'm more than happy to help. Call me directly at 828-423-6207.
The winning bidder is required to pay $500 paypal deposit within 48 hours of auctions end, and the balance is to be paid in full within 7 days of auctions end, no exceptions. I will not release either the car or the title until payment has been made and cleared with my bank in full, no exceptions. If the winning bidder should chose to drive it home (at 55mph keep in mind) I will be glad to arrange to pick the winning bidder up at Asheville Regional Airport in the Mercedes to helpfacilitate a smooth transaction. Should you choose to use a shipper (at your expense) I will be glad to hold the vehicle for a reasonable amount of time (2 weeks after payment made in full) and meet with your shipper within 20 miles of Asheville, NC to ensure safe pickup. Again, I am here to help.
Thanks for looking and good luck. Cheers.
