Beautiful 1983 Mercedes Benz 300 SD Turbodiesel. I acquired this vehicle from the original family who purchased it new at the Mercedes dealership here in Denver. It was maintained by the same Mercedes dealership for most of it's life (records up to 180k) and has always been garaged.I took it to a reputed German car shop when I purchased it and had them tune it up and look it over- they did a valve adjustment, nstalled a new valve cover gasket, hanged the fuel filters and fixed one of the rear windows (done at just over 197k). Other than that it has only required routine maintenance since I have owned it- oil changes, new air filter, new glow plug relay and new front brake pads. It has two sets of tires- summer and winter. The winter tires are like new and the summer tires have good tread remaining. It passed diesel emissions testing when I purchased it. This car is all original- down to the first-aid kit and spare tire which looks like it has never been used. The only reason that I am parting with it at this point is that I quickly realized with the Colorado winter that this classic car should not be exposed to the elements so it has remained garaged and I have a second car to drive in the winter and need to make room in the garage. It has an engine block heater and as long as it has been plugged-in starts right up in below freezing temperatures. It has a slow oil drip but this is not uncommon or problematic for the OM617 engine and I have only had to add one quart of oil over all the time that I have driven it and I check the oil level weekly. Cruise control only works intermittently, ther electronics all working- windows, unroof, adio, C, eat, ntenna. Interior is in overall good condition, mall tear in drivers seat, mall crack in dash, ome wear around the seat belts (see pictures). Interior all original and carpet underneath mats is very clean. It does have normal wear and tear for a 30+ year old car but you will be hard pressed to find a better example of a well cared for classic Mercedes diesel!
