Car description |
---|
Good looking classic Benz, ast of the hand-built Mercedes on the W108 chassis. This is the 4.5L V8 was only available in its last year of production (1972), ther models featured a 3.5L V8 or a 2.8L inline-6. New tires (less than 200miles) and recently changed oil (less than 50miles ago on October 17th).
Previous owner used this as a daily driver and had no reliability issues (he drove it from Massachusetts to Virginia in early 2014). I have used it as a weekend cruiser, ever had any issues. In the last year, he car has started in as low as 23 degree weather in Virginia up through the 100+ degree weather in Houston. The car was trailered to Texas from Virginia this summer. The car is being sold because I'm in graduate school and no longer have as much time to drive it. The engine pulls strong and the car rides well (no suspension squeaking or rattles).
The odometer reads 57457, ut has turned over (only a 5 digits odometer) so true mileage is closer to 160,000. The car's title lists true mileage as unknown because the odometer stopped working for a period of time before it was repaired (prior to my owning it - odometer works as it should now). I had this car inspected after purchase a year and a half ago, he mechanic was impressed with the condition of the car and engine.
Because this car was used as a daily driver as recently as 2 year ago, here is some expected normal aging. The MB Tex seats have held up well, he headliner could stands to be replaced (small dime sized holes) but does not sag. The dash has a small crack in it which is a common for these cars after 43 years. The wood dash could stand to be refinished but is all there. There is a small amount of rust behind the driver side back wheel (see pictures).
*note: The car is currently registered under a clean title with antique Virginia plates but located in Houston, exas due to a recent move. The car was previously registered under normal plates in Massachusetts and passed all safety inspections for regular driving. I have paperwork on the car dating back to 1987
