The Mercedes-Benz SL has always signified automotive style with sophistication, hile each new generation seems to define and be defined by its era. Such was the case when the R107 model SL came on the scene in 1972 as a replacement for the popular 230/250/280SL W113 series. This family of SL models existed with minimal changes until 1989, remarkable production run for a luxury convertible. With the R107, Mercedes debuted a V-8 engine in the convertible lineup to compensate for increased weight. Styling was elegant, imeless, et conservative and somewhat reminiscent of the pagoda top cars. Despite dimensions being more or less the same, he R107 appeared to be much larger. This 1975 Mercedes-Benz 450 SL is one of 6011 manufactured that year and comes in a rare color combination. Gold-Metallic, ith Mocha-Brown Hardtop and Softtop, s well as the color keyed wheel-covers. Having spent it's entire life in Northern California, he car remains rust-free and is claimed to have only had 2 owners during the past 40 years. This is a well kept, well maintained, xcellent driving automobile. No rust, o major body damage or repair, ith one older repaint in the correct color. It is not a show car, nd it is not priced as such. Please look at the pictures to see the small areas that may need some attention. There are some chips and dings. The interior shows some wear and tear, s does the cloth convertible top. The odometer shows around 160,000 miles and stopped working last year according to the previous owner. Clock doesn't work, indshield washer doesn't work, rivers door exterior key lock doesn't work. AC kicks on but doesn't blow cold. Otherwise the vehicle is in very presentable condition and runs, rives, tops excellent. New sway bar bushings and Bilstein shocks were installed in front, s well as a new hood pad. This 450 runs fine and has recently only been used for car shows and meets. Just completed a trip down the California coast from San Francisco to Monterey California. Starts immediately. Brakes are good. Stops straight and very well. Steering is not loose. The car looks and operates better than average for it's age and mileage. A great ride in unusual colors, xcellent driver as well as an investment opportunity. Additional pictures are available via dropbox. Call or e-mail me with any questions you may have.
