This car is spectacular and extremely rare in this color "Ultramarinblau".

It is a 1983 Mercedes Benz 240 D in it's final year of production and the most advance of the series. This car is an absolute gem and has had only ONE owner since new with only 125,762 original miles. The car 100% original and has been garage kept in California since new.The car is of course completely rust free with a perfect body and chassis. The paint finish is stunning and completely original (amazing)!!!!!!!A little history on the color:Ultramarine is a deep blue color and a pigment which was originally made by grinding lapis lazuli into a powder. The name comes from the Latin ultramarinus, iterally "beyond the sea", ecause the pigment was imported into Europe from mines in Afghanistan by Italian traders during the 14th and 15th centuries.

Ultramarine was the finest and most expensive blue used by Renaissance painters. It was often used for the robes of the Virgin Mary, nd symbolized holiness and humility. It remained an extremely expensive pigment until a synthetic ultramarine was invented in 1826.
