This is the legendary Mercedes-Benz OM617 3.0L turbocharged diesel engineinside of the w123 coupé chassis. 1985 was the last year that these mid-sized luxury supercars were produced. The engine has excellent compression after reaching the 500km milestone, nd we can attribute this to exceptional maintenance over the 30 years that it's been on the road. I have started the application process to register this car for it's impressive mileage status. Paint is silver paired with the blue interior featuring MB-tex (thickgauge vinyl) seats. I bought the car six years ago and it's been my driver since. I've done oil and spin-on fuel filter changes every 10,000 miles and inline filter changes more frequently. In 2009 I had some front end components replaced as needed. I had the fuel return lines replaced due to a leak and had the valves adjusted with a new cover seal at this time as well. In 2011 the brake pads and rotors were replaced, ne front caliper replaced and the other three were rebuilt. Radiator flush and transmission fluid change (but not filter). In 2012 the entire exhaust system was replaced from manifold to tail pipe, nd the blower motor was replaced with new unit for the climate control. In 2013 the battery was replaced for the winter along with a couple of weak/defective glow plugs. Since then I have been spending a lot of time abroad and the car has seen less use. Updates for 2015 are a full set of new touring tires, new outer tie rod, ront end alignment, nd essential fluid and filter changes at 325k. The trunk is loaded with extras. Extra fluids, hydraulic floor jack and customized wheel lug wrench, spotlight, umper cables, ope, ungees, unnels, gas can, arious replacement bulbs, ubricants, ive unused Bosch glow plugs, eelergauges and specialty valve adjustment wrenches with a brand new cover gasket for next valve adjustment, arious hoses, arious ties and clamps, n assortment of fuses, he original tool kit, full size matching bundt wheel, he longest extension cord I could find (for cold weather block heater situations) and spare factory keys, nd even a spare ignition switch tumbler with spare keys. Automotive repair manual and the original owner's manual and maintenance booklet with documentation through 2005 (267k).The interior is immaculate except for some typical cracks on the top of the dash. The odometer works perfectly well because the trip has not been reset while driving. The floor carpet has never seen feet in 30 years thanks to all-weather rubber floor mats. The MB-tex is amazingly intact, ith a small tear starting on the upper half of the driver's seat (which is still as springy and comfortable as the day it was made). The glass is nice, ut there are some scratches on the door windows from operators forgetting to drop the back windows first. It's a very clean car. The original Becker is still installed but I can't seem to stop it from scanning when I turn it on, o I'll include a CD player on request if you would like to switch it. The speakers are original, nd seem to all work. The Hirschmann power antennae will need to be rebuilt with a new mast to function perfectly. The sunroof works and all five power windows are functional. Now down to the brass tacks. I have left some scheduledmaintenance up for negotiation. Any transmission service would be recommended and this unit is used to having attention every 20k miles or so. The filters are widely available and something a DIY operator can replace, nd at the very least it's a good idea to have a fluid transfusion performed in the near future. I will leave this to the next owner as the transmission shifts nicely and has had more attention recently than many used cars that are available. I am willing to perform the following mechanical updates with a BuyItNow purchase after the deposit has cleared:1. I will replace the brittle D/S rear axle boots that begin to leak. If you don't plan to take the car far from Columbus Ohio, ou can drive it home and replace them yourself with a Flexx gun and a rebuild kit (~$100). It's a messy job, ut it's not too difficult. If you want to drive the car a long distance, would not recommend doing this without making the repair first, ecause this becomes an expensive repair if the axle is ruined by being driven hard and dry. I would need at least two days to get the kit and do this repair. 2. I will test the glow plugs and replace any weak units, nd do a valve adjustment and cover gasket replacement. Again, omething you could save money and do yourself if you are handy, nd for this routine I've already procured high grade (Bosch, etc.) components to complete. It's not as immediate as the axle issue, ut it's a good idea to do this before winter for smooth driving and reliable cold starting. For a winning bid under the BuyItNow price, he car is sold as-is, here is, nd must be picked up in person or by a transporter before the month ends. You are welcome to repair the axle on the car upon pick up, fter which I have no doubts that it would make it safely across the country. Please do not hesitate to ask for more information or photographs, will reply to the best of my ability.
