For sale is my 1977 Mercedes 450 SEL. I have owned this car since February of 2006. It had 81,000 miles on it then. I have enjoyed his car immensely. I have since moved on to more modern vehicles and have made the difficult decision to part with it. When I was a kid in the 70's, his was the car to have. It was one one of the most respected and admired cars in the world. I feel lucky to have found one of these, nd I will always have fond memories of it. During my ownership, his car has been garage kept, ever driven in the snow, nd always serviced by very knowledgeable Mercedes mechanics. The pictures should tell the story. It has a new set of Michelin tires that are less than a year old. It has new pads and rotors all around. The alternator was replaced about a year and a half ago. I have plenty of service records that will document that this car was given everything it needed. The windows are in excellent condition and are all original, ncluding the windshield. The dash has only a small crack by the instrument cluster. All of the interior and exterior lights and signals work. The chrome and bumpers are near perfect. The paint is in excellent condition on the sides. It does show its age on the roof hood and trunk. The carpet is in excellent condition, ith no rips anywhere. There are no odors whatsoever. I don't think this car has ever been smoked in. I certainly never did. You can still get a scent of the leather, hich is amazing after all these years. This car has never been in an accident of any type. The engine is smooth and powerful. It does not leak or smoke. The three speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly up or down the gears every time. There are a few things about the car that will need attention. The sunroof works when it wants to. My mechanic told me it could just be the switch needs to be cleaned or replaced. The sunroof can be operated manually by a control in the trunk. The heat and ac work but the ac will need to be recharged. The vacuum locks do not work, ut they can still be operated manually. The steering column could use some tightening. The odometer stopped working about two years ago. The car has only been driven about a thousand miles a year since then. The mileage is likely to be around 109,000. If the car sits for more than a few days the battery dies. My mechanic has told me that it may be the servo or the amplifier that would need to be repaired. I have an extra set of high quality aftermarket wheels that are 7"x15" that would provide a more updated look and give more options if you wanted to run 15" tires with a lower aspect ratio. I decided to go back to the original look last year. This is an amazing car that still has plenty of life left in it. Please feel free to call or text me at 828-335-8855 I will be more than happy to provide any additional pictures and information.
