Car description

I have listed this with the Mercedes diesels because I saw someone else do that once when I was watching MB dieselauctions and it began my obsession with these BMW TDs.This auction is NOT for a MB it is for a 1985 BMW 524td 6 cylinder diesel with a stock m21 diesel motor from the factory. This particular car is a US model and came with an automatic(all US models came with autos). The resealed 5 speed was installed by OMG in Long Island with a new clutch, ear main seal, il pan seal... ... ...The head has been off when the previous owner had the car and has been checked for cracks and pronounced healthy. He had the wiring harness re routed to ease head/intake removal in the future(this is a great thing). The injector pump has been rebuilt with modern synthetic seals. He also had the turbo rebuilt and did the timing belt. The oil cooler lines are new.All of the suspension bushings have been replaced and the car sits nicely on a set of Bilsteins and new Goodyears. The AC system has been completely gone through with a CORRECTLY done r134a conversion with a crossflow condenser and a new evaporator, ines, .. ... ... I personally weighed out the CORRECT amount of r134 after keeping a vacuum on it overnight. It works well.MOST importantly the car hasspent its entire life in the State of Georgia. I have a lot of receipts to prove it, ncluding the original window sticker. It was owned for many years by a BMW employee(the receipts show his employee discount).Because it is aSouthern car it is NOT a rusty car. It is solid and in wonderful shape. The original white paint shows some touch ups and overall presents extremely well. The interior is black vinyl and is overall is good shape. The power seats work, xcept for the headrest(motors run but they don't move). All windows and locks work. The car is a dream to drive and is fast and fun. It isn't fair to compare it to the MB 5cal diesels, ut that is really the closest thing. The BMW is quiet, evs quickly, nd MUCH faster. It also gets much better mileage(low 30s depending on how you drive it).I have run the car on "regular" D2 diesel and B100 ASTM spec biodiesel. It runs equally happily on either. I have replaced the injector return lines with Viton hose for biodiesel compatibility. It does not have any special(non stock) fuel heaters or second tanks. These cars do have a stock fuel heating element and it also comes with a 110 V electric block heater cord that works great, ut it starts on even the coldest(way below zero days) without the block heater by just running the glow plugs.I will regret selling this car, nd am only selling itbecause I need another 4x4 and my wife thinks there are too many cars. The pictures of it with the air dam, ider late model wheels, nd lowered front springs are how it looked when I purchased it. All of those parts come with the car. I like the stock look and went back to it. I also have a brand new(black) spoiler for the trunk lid that was never installed(the trunk lid was never drilled). That will also come with the car along with some other boxes of misc parts. The car is currently in Hudson NY 12534, ut if you are serious I can bring it down to the NYC area. PLEASE call me with any questions at 917-449-4523 but PLEASE do not wast my time by bidding/buying the car througheBay unless you are ready to pay. If you don't at least contact me by email with some serious questions or call I will cancel your bids/purchase.
