Looking to sell my 1989 Mercedes-Benz 420 SEL. $1500 cash or best reasonable offer. 129k miles. Clean title. Has not been running since July of last year. I am the second owner of the car, urchased in 2007 from the original owners. I am not mechanically inclined, o my knowledge of the issues surrounding the vehicle are limited. During my ownership of the car, have been continually struggling with the fuel system. Clogged injectors, park plugs, nd wires mostly. And when it stopped running in July of last year, he car would continually try to turn over when the key was turned, ut it just wouldn't start. I didn't have the money to fix it at the time, o I garaged it, nd my wife and I have been using 1 car ever since. Other known issues include: A/C leak (needs retrofitting from R-12 to R-134a) Oil leak Radio/Antenna need fixed Driver's electric seat adjustment switch needs replaced (lean forward doesn't work) 1 Power window switch needs replaced Rear-view mirror housing is cracked Needs new wheels/tires (Bead was offset, o tires leaked air very slowly. Slime was used to fix all 4 tires a few years ago. Tire shop said it would be easier to just replace them all, han try to clean out slime.) Abrasive damage to leather of driver's seat from getting in and out of the vehicle. I really hate having to sell this car. It drove like a champ in its better days. Original owners purchased new for $79,000 from a Mercedes dealer in Hutchinson, S in 1989 to use as a get-away vehicle to their mountain vacation home in Vail, olorado. It's a solid-bodied, 8 highway-driving dream. I have yet to ride in a more smooth-riding highway vehicle. It will be a great vehicle to the right buyer who will return it to its former glory. I will include the Mercedes-Benz published digital w126 Service/Repair manuals which include schematics, roubleshooting, nd repair information for the vehicle. Feel free to contact me anytime with questions or if you'd like to check out the vehicle in-person.
