Car description

This 1989 Mazda RX-7 Convertible is not only an ultra-desirable triple-black classic. But it's also a well-documented low-mileage two-owner machine. It makes for a drop-top that's distinct, premium, and preserved - all in the first glance.
Black convertibles always have an upper-class look. The level of gloss and shine you see today is a testament to both the quality work of Mazda and how well this RX-7 has been respected from day one. But what we really love about these second-generation cars is that Mazda offered a European exotic level of design, while still retaining the Japanese build quality. You see it in the details, like flush-fitting headlights and the full-length pinstripe showing off how straight the body panels are. And the hint of silver in the stripes goes nicely with the factory BBS wheels to really showcase the premium look of this already stylish RX-7.
The black convertible top is in excellent condition, and with the flip of a switch, it powers down to reveal a full black inside. With the exterior, roof, and interior all in such a well-preserved darkness, you have a factory triple-black presentation that will be the envy of plenty. And with this car only averaging around 450 miles annually, you instantly understand why the leather bucket seats are still deep, dark, and smooth. Plus, the carpeting, door panels, and dash are also just as nice. The largest bit of color you'll get in this blackout interior is the red/orange glow of the very sporty gauge package. But more than just a pure sports machine, the RX-7 was Mazda's flagship car, and so there are plenty of luxury features. It includes power windows, power locks, cruise control, and the factory Pioneer AM/FM/CD/cassette stereo. This was specially engineered to be a quite thoughtful convertible. Plus, the air conditioning is blowing cold to help make sure you can keep the top down into the summer season. These RX-7s also introduced unique stereo speakers in the headrests. This allows you to hear your favorite tunes no matter how fast you go with the top down.
The engine bay has the same level of wonderfully stock presentation as the rest of the car. And it's always great to have the motor ready to show off, because it's a big talking point of the RX-7. Mazda was the only one of this era offering rotary power to the public. The dual-rotor Wankel engine can fit behind the front axle for ideal mid-engine placement. It may be smaller than the V6 and V8 engines you'd expect under the hood of a sports car, but this revolutionary motor makes just as much power. Not only is it powerful, but these motors have a high-revving smoothness that's just perfect for those who love the grand tour. So while this is an excellently preserved low-mileage classic, it would be a shame not to take it out on the road. After all, the four-speed automatic transmission w/overdrive, fully independent suspension, well-balanced weight distribution, and four-wheel disc brake package combine to offer the ideal mixture of performance and comfort.
The sale comes complete with the original window sticker and full owner's manual packet. It's all part of the excellent level of preservation and presentation that makes this triple-black RX-7 an upper-class Japanese classic. Call today!!!
