**[gallery link at bottom of description]**
This is a highly modified 1992 Mazda Miata equipped with a Flyin' Miata CARB legal turbocharger kit. I escaped the California Camp Fire in this car. All modifications were carried out around 2003-2004. Here is a list of modifications:
- Flyin' Miata turbo kit with gt2560r ball-bearing turbocharger and front mounted intercooler
- custom aluminum radiator and oil cooler (both fan cooled)
- coolant reroute installed
- custom dual outlet exhaust with resonator
- Koni adjustable coil-over suspension (has some surface rust, fill need to be cleaned up before adjusting ride height)
- Flyin' Miata aviation style gauges (EGT and A/F are VERY slow to respond and need senders replaced to be reliable)
- custom quad headlight with sleepy-eye conversion (one hi-beam lens is missing, will cost $50 from 'gomiata' to replace)
- repainted factory color red with black bottom rock guard and 2 silver racing stripes (this is a 10' paint job because of 17 years of wear)
- Robbins black canvas top (stitching is failing in several places but top is perfect otherwise)
- Hard Dog single loop rollbar
- custom 'Jaguar' style gasoline filler lid
- custom Miata stainless steel sill plates
- custom gauge cluster and matching HVAC controls
- custom leather matching seat belt gaiters, parking brake gaiter, and shifter boot
- genuine Panasport 16" wheels (some light curb rash and the clear coat is peeling in a few spots)
- Yokohama S.Drive tires with less than 2,000 miles (3 years old)
- power windows, locks, and mirrors installed with genuine Mazda parts
- auto-dimming rear-view mirror with exterior temperature and compass readout (you NEED an auto-dimming mirror in a Miata!)
- custom 'Miata' script floor mats
- new 12v starting battery (1 month old)
- other things I'm forgetting
What it needs:
- the A/C does not work and I've never investigated why
- the clutch hydraulic system needs to be replaced (fluid has fouled from storage so the master and slave can't be trusted)
- last owner bypassed the thermal sensor for the radiator with a hi-amp switch, this is not ideal and needs to be replaced
- a proper stand-alone ECU (this uses an ancient rising rate fuel pressure regulator and a box under the dash to control fuel, the box is so old that the pressure sensor whistles annoyingly)
- the power door locks are wired up to the old alarm and I haven't used it as I don't want to be stuck somewhere if it fails
- a driver who didn't get PTSD from escaping a firestorm and gets feelings of dread from just looking at the car
Vehicle runs and drives but is not registered so you will need to trailer it home.
The title is clear and signed over but I never registered it (that PTSD and all) in my name. I will sign the title over and include a DMV statement of facts that shows it was never used on California roadways since the transfer (no out of registration fees if you register it in California, this won't apply if the buyer is taking it out of state). I'll be linking a gallery of over 100 pictures and a couple videos showing a cold start and hot start w/some revs. Please ask any questions you have or if you need a picture of anything I missed. I have no problem showing the car if you're local or would like a mechanic to come by for an inspection. However, I will not drive it anywhere because of the expired registration and the fact I live in CHPburg.
$1000 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of the auction's end.
Reserve is a modest $5000
ebay is crap and hates google links. "Link" to gallery with over 150 pics and 2 videos (cold start, hot start and rev). Gotta remove the parentheses, first.
