Really clean 1986 Mazda RX-7 GXL 5-speed. We've had it in our family since 1988 (bought it from the original owner when it was 2 years old and took title from my father in 2017) and have always pampered and garaged it. Never abused or even driven hard. It's had two very minor incidents that needed body work. However, on both ocassions, it was just cosmetic.
In the past year we've given it a complete tune-up including all hoses and belts, battery and recently changed the oil in September. The tires are a year old (October 2017) and have only about 1,500 miles on them. We replaced the original clutch and master cylinder 6 months ago.It runs great and is still used as a daily driver. The interior looks excellent for a 33 year old car. (see pictures) the seats are still comfortable and only minor cracking is found on the driver's seat. The dashboard has no cracks and since it was always garaged (work & home) it's not faded much at all.
Negatives:
The sunroof no longer opens. I can hear the motor trying to open it, but it doesn't move. The air conditioning blows warm and we believe it needs a new compressor, but I'm not 100% sure. It could use new shocks/struts for better driving experience, but they aren't absolutely necessary. The bottom of the left side front quarter panel has a plastic coating on top of the steel to prevent corrosion, and it recently cracked and fell off (see picture). We just hit it with white spray paint to protect the steel underneath before it started rusting. The only real noticable rust is at the bottom of the 3rd brake light. (See picture)
