Car description |
---|
This is a very rare opprotunnity to buy a car that has truly been pampered its entire life. The Original Owner left the car to a family member the (second owner) when he passed. Our client(Third Owner) was in the same church and both where retirement age and purchased it from the family member. This car has ALWAYS BEEN GARAGED and COVERED. It has always been nothing but a weekend toy. This car is all original not restored and in near mint condition.
This 1991 Mazda Miata Special Edition is a 10k mile, original example in excellent condition throughout. Mileage is verifiable via an included AutoCheck report, and the seller adds that it's never been in an accident. 1991 was the first time a Special Edition Miata was offered, and less than 4,000 were built-all in BRG over tan leather. This one is fully optionedwith everything available at the time apart from an automatic transmission.A/C, limited slip differential, and power steering are all present. The sale includes its Original Factory Hardtop as well as the Original Tonneau, which has never been used..
Always garaged with very good cosmetics, paint is all-original with a few very very minor rock chip (really none) This car is entirely free of any dents or dings regardless of size. The paint on this car is remarkable it has great depth and shine. Mazda North America has confirmed that this is 3,806 out of 3,997 SE models produced.
The Soft top is as new only up a few times the rear window is clean and clear plastic and well-preserved vinyl top. When the soft top was down the rear window was covered on both sides by a soft cloth.
The factory hardtop looks great on these cars and was a substantial option costing $1400 dollars in 1991!
Inside, unique Special Edition equipment includes a wooden Nardi shift knob, handbrake lever and stainless sill plates as well as all options available onthe Miata. These include A/C, Power Steering, CD player, Power Windows and, headrest Speakers, Cruise Control and ABS - ABS being a relatively rare option to find on a first-gen car. The radio was updated, but the original radio we still have and goes with the car.
Like the entire car, the cabin remains in excellent, all-original condition with only minimal signs of use.
This car drives fantastic as you would expect. The power comes from the standard early Miata 1.6 liter twin cam four, however it should be noted that these Special Edition examples are not fitted with the "short-nose crank" version of this engine that came in many other pre-1.8 cars. It is also standard with the short throw 5-Speed Transmission. The Tires where replaced about a year ago due todeterioration not use. The tires where replaced with the correct size Firestone Firehawk and they have less than two thousand miles on them.
Maintenance records are limited as expected from a superlow mileage Miatathathas needed onlyroutine fluid and filter changes. Brake fluid, transmission and differential fluid, and coolant have all been flushed within the past five years.
This is a very rareopportunity to purchase one of the true collectoreditions of Miata's made. This has to be one of the best examples left out there. This car will only appreciate in value.
When you talk collector edition Miatia's I believe the conversation goes as follows
1) !991 Miata Special Edition ( With Both Tops)
2) 1992 Sunburst Yellow Miata
3) 1994 95-96 M Edition's
4) 1997 Miata STO
5) 1993 Miata LE
However yourange the order this car will be in the top 5, and this car has to be one of the best examples left out there of the 1991 Miata Special Edition.
