Okay, first let me tell you a bit about this vehicle.
The Good:
I purchased it from the original owner when it was only a few years old.
The original color was white but I decided that International Safety Orange with a Green pearl coat would help me find it in parking lots and assist others in seeing me on the road thus avoiding accidents. (When it was white I was told that people couldn't see me in traffic.)
I drove the living crap out of it and the original engine died at around 225K miles (crankshaft broke at the motor- which is an easy fix once the engine is out of the car. I never fixed it but the original engine is included with the purchase of the car if you so desire.)
I had the opportunity to purchase another Miata from a friend who had rear end damage to it but a perfect engine with a Jackson Racing Supercharger in it- and only ~60K miles on it.
So I swapped engines.
It became blisteringly fast for a Miata and my wife started going through tires immediately.
She never drove it before the Supercharger but it was hard to get away from her afterwards...
Since that time I only put ~23K miles on it so the engine you get only has ~83K miles on it.
These engines last for a long time so it still has plenty of life left.
No rust.
Absolutely clear title.
Never wrecked (but it did set struck by a slow-moving vehicle while parked. Damage was on the right rear quarter panel- I had it fixed professionally and there is absolutely no frame/body integrity damage- just a dent that has been fixed properly.)
Factory original alloy wheels in good shape.
Tires hold air and the vehicle rolls so the brake calipers aren't locked up.
The car also comes with a lot of spare parts that I never got rid of if you want them as well.
Please note that the car was running perfectly when I put it away.
The Bad:
I moved away for around ten years and put the car in my garage.
It hasn't been driven, or run, since.
I believe there is fuel in the tank still but am not certain.
I left the top down (it is trashed by the way but the frame is good so the vinyl will need replacing) and it got very dusty and grimy.
The interior could be repaired or replaced (leather seats with headrest speakers seem okay and might just need to be properly and thoroughly cleaned) and the paint is okay in most spots and might just come up with a buffing.
There is a nasty dent near the fuel door from when something fell on it.
Few other bumps and scratches from years of use.
Battery is dead, of course.
Very dirty and grimy from sitting.
My Verdict:
I believe the car could be made roadworthy (or track-worthy) if you have the spare time and mechanical skills to do it.
This is definitely an advanced project for the home tinkerer.
If you are a professional shop then you can be the judge of whether this car can make you a profit.
Probably can but who really knows.
It is also an excellent source of parts if you have an older Miata and want a spare to scavenge.
You must come to New Orleans (actually Kenner, which is a suburb of New Orleans) to get it.
I can pick you up at the airport if you fly in but you will need to haul it away.
Please do not think that you can get it running in my garage and drive it off- it really needs more work than that and I just don't have the time to spare.
If you want to arrange shipping feel free but I have no idea how to do such things and will only be available in order to have the person/service picking it up get access to it.
Payment in CASH only, no PayPal (except for deposit) or Checks.
I request pickup within 10 days of bidding unless you and I come to an alternate arrangement since I am renovating my house and need space in the garage.
I am not much of a photographer nor am I a professional eBayer. Should you require more information or pictures please let me know and I'll do my best to accommodate you.
If you have zero or negative feedback please contact before bidding or I will cancel your bid.
Same goes for people with accounts less than 6 months old.
Thanks for looking!
May my beleaguered elderly Miata become your treasure.
