Car description |
---|
I have a 1985 Mazda rx7 for sale. It is a GS model with he 12A Wankel rotary engine. I am listing the car because I recently decided I would rather have a newer Miata. I am the second owner of this car. It has just over 37,000 miles on it and has been well taken care of for its whole life. Rust free. It runs and drives great and is very fun! Never came equipped with power steering. Manual transmission. Cruise control. A/C still works great.
I have recently changed the distributor cap and rotor, spark plug wires and spark plugs. Also recent engine and differential oil change within the last 300 miles. I have been premixing the gas with TCW3 two stroke oil as an extra assurance to keep the apex seals properly lubricated in addition to the factory Oil Metering Pump that still works fine. All factory emissions is still in place. I recently took the Carburetor off to replace the accelerator pump. The only modification to the car has been a muffler delete I recently had done so that I could hear the engine a bit better. It is by no means loud though as it still has the original catalytic converter as well as the pre-cats. I also recently had the dealership install a working used starter from a different rx7. All interior and exterior lights work, original stereo works great. No rips or tears anywhere in the interior.
Only issues with the car are a small chip in the paint on the hood (about 1/2 inch long and 1/4 inch wide), and for some reason the cruise control hasn't been working since I reinstalled the carburetor a couple weeks ago. I'm guessing there is just a vacuum or electrical connection somewhere that I didn't get hooked up quite right. The cruise worked perfect before I took the carburetor off. For a 32 year old car it looks amazing, however it is not perfect. There are some small blemishes in the paint here and there as would be expected for something this old. That being said, I have never seen another rx7 of this era that looks as nice as this one. The interior is in wonderful shape and the exterior looks great as well. Runs great and the miles may go up a bit before the car sells as I drive it some on my days off. Before I purchased the car it sat in the original owners garage for multiple years without much use. I am not sure if they stayed current on registrations each year but the odometer is 100% accurate to my knowledge.
All sales are final and I will be requiring a non-refundable $1,000 up front deposit within 24 hours of winning the auction. No refunds of the purchase price will be issued and I reserve the right to end the auction early if I so choose. Please bid only if serious about purchasing the car. I will not be responsible for buyers remorse or any problems that may arise with the vehicle after it has left my possession. Payment will have to be taken care of between me and the seller as I currently still have a loan on the car. I would need to receive payment and then go pay off the loan at the bank. I would then have the bank send the buyer the title. I would prefer to simply contact my bank and do a wire transfer of the funds directly to them, or an in person payment of cash or check that the buyer and I would take directly to the bank.
Feel free to come look at the car and drive it, or to send someone to inspect the car for you. I would be happy to help if the buyer needs to have it shipped to them, but the buyer is responsible for coordinating shipping and for paying for it themselves.
It's really a gem and a true piece of automotive history. I am sure an enthusiast or collector would love this car just as much as I do!
Reserve price is 5,000 and it's worth every penny of that price!
