Car description

1991 MAZDA RX7 CONVERTIBLE - INCREDIBLE CONDITION
53,770 miles (original engine and odometer)

I found this 1991 treasure in 1992 with only 7K miles. She was my only car for 2-3 years until I had to buy a sedan to carry more people.

This black beauty was my fun car. I started her weekly and ran her up and down the highway, sometimes an hour out and back, then into the garage.

RX7s are fun, exhilarating, and comfortable to drive. It’s great to put the top down in winter, turn the heat on and listen to the speakers in the head restraints. It’s a feeling of pure freedom.

The engine is smooth, quick, and responsive with tight handling. The cabin is comfortable; all controls are well-positioned and roomy for two people.

I am selling her because it is time for me to reduce the vehicles I own, simplify my life, and let someone else appreciate all she offers.

CONDITION
• Low Mileage at 53,770
• Two Owners
• Sharp condition; very clean inside and out

Over 25 years I have replaced items:
• New Convertible Top (soft portion behind hard targa)
• Leather Seats (few years ago)
• New Tires
• New Radiator
• New Wiper Blades and gas cap
• New Transmission (about 5 years ago)
• New Radio with Mini Plug Connector for Cell (original radio available if new owner desires)

The car has not been modified and has its original body and engine. The design and the condition look like a much newer car. The car is currently registered in Texas through May 2017 and has a clean title.

FEATURES
• Brilliant Black on Black
• Power Convertible Top, Steering, Windows, Rearview Mirrors, Radio Antenna
• Spare Tire and Jack in Trunk
• Convertible “Tonneau” Cover in perfect condition (never used)
• Cruise Control
• Fog Lights
• Leather Bucket Seats
• 6-Speaker Sound System including Speakers in the Headrests
• 4-speed Automatic Transmission with HOLD Feature
• Original Floor Mats in very good shape
• Alarm System (red light is lit, but audio alarm is not currently functioning)
• Rear Window defogger

MAINTENANCE
Oil was changed every 3K miles like clockwork, and I was vigilant about all maintenance.

ACCIDENTS
The only trouble has been two fender benders. Literally – the front fender was fixed and painted, and the rear fender was fixed and painted.

ISSUES
• AC blows hard, but recently stopped blowing cold. It may need freon, or it may have a leak. I do not see any coolant when I inspect the top of the engine, so I am not sure.
• The wipers (new blades) only work at regular speed, meaning the relay switch has gone out. Very common issue. The fast speed and intermittent functions do not work.
• Paint on doors and trunk is quite good, but paint on hood has white dots where the paint is gone. Car looks excellent from 5 feet away. You only see this issue up close.
• The paint around the front bumper, headlights, and strip above windshield have an “orange peel” look to the surface.
• Horn button on left of steering wheel does not work (right one does).
• I replaced radio (original stored in the trunk), and had to rewire so that speakers work in headsets and doors, but no volume control in headsets. However, the volume is perfect; not too loud or soft.
• Airbag light goes on and off, but mechanic says it does not affect or mean anything.
