1976 Lotus Elite Base Hatchback 2-Door 2.0L

I have owned this car for about 2 years. It was in long term storage and I have recommissioned the car. At some point in it's life the original Lotus version of the engine was replaced with a Jensen Healey. same engine. I have replacement Lotus cam covers. The engine is very strong with a new timing belt a fresh electrical tune up and new. properly jetted Weber 45DCOE carbs with new K&N filters. The cooling is sorted with a multicore radiator. Fans work automatically ( new otter switch) and it does not overheat. Gearbox is solid and smooth shifting. Underside of the car is clean without surface rust. New tires. nbsp; recent Spax shocks front and AVO's rear. New rear wheel bearings. Very good brakes. Power steering is working well and leak free. AC is present but condition unknown. Electrically headlights work. nbsp; all instruments except the speedo are working. All other electrics with the exception of rear wiper and rear defrost work as they should. Interior is very nice with 2 fully adjustable fabric Recaro seats in place of the original Lotus seats. What lets this car down is the cosmetics. Foam bumpers need to be removed or replaced. Paint. while free of stress cracks. nbsp; is in need of re doing. It is a fine driver. nbsp; but I bought and Eclat with excellent cosmetics as an alternative. Hence my sale of this.
