For Sale: 1986 Lotus Esprit Turbo HCI. 17,362 Original Miles. Original Owner. Excellent condition S3 Esprit. Ready for new owner, who will greatly enjoy this rare vehicle. In 1986 only about 200 Esprit Turbo cars were built in the world. This is a very sought after exotic car, that is becoming harder to come by. This Esprit is 100% original except brand new BFGoodrich tires, and hood and rear trunk struts are new.
History on this Esprit: My mom is the original owner, who bought this brand new in 1986 in Reno Nevada. She has kept it as a weekend summer car in Lake Tahoe. Vehicle had always been garaged, never driven in rain, and has been serviced every year. It has just recently been trailered to Southern California this last year to have serviced, with original rebuilt alternator, new fuel accumulator, fuel filters, air filter, oil change, new tires, hood and trunk struts, and lil spit and polish that makes this 33 year old collectible show room condition.
Exterior: Pictures don't do this Esprit justice! Immaculate blood red "original" paint. Few chips, and at least 2-3 small stress cracks in fiber glass. Other then those few blemishes, body is in excellent condition. Everything shuts, closes, and functions as it should. Removable top for those summer nights. Factory BBS wheels, with brand new BFGoodrich tires which were only replaced due to cracks in the side wall.
Interior: Is immaculate! My mom is 5'2 and 100lbs. Maybe 105 on a bad day! Leather is in perfect condition, no wear, or crack in seats. Small tear on driver side carpet, probably from her high heels!$&@ Factory Blaupunkt stereo and headunit. Headunit may need to be replaced or repaired? Turns on, but ate my cassette tape and won't cough it back up! "I want that back!" Glass is clean and clear, no scratches or pits. Passanger side window switch likes to fall in once in a while, but everything works and functions. Including even the smallest details, nothing to hide on this gem!
Mechanically: Car runs amazing! Super fun to drive, specially when you get into the RPMs and get that Garrison Turbo to spool! Handles incredible. Not too many sports cars handle like this. Everything's tight, alignment, doesn't track, like a heat seeking missile. Does not leak or burn oil, underneath is clean. The car sat for the last few years and was started on and off. We did service when we brought to Southern California, drained the gas, put new fuel accumulator, new fuel filters, new air filter, oil change, and had the original alternator rebuilt. Clutch is great, and brakes are excellent. Like I said, 17k "original miles”
Get a chance to get a piece of history on this rare collectible. These cars are small, light, and quick. Besides James Bond has one of these!? DUH!
