1972 Lotus Elan Sprint

For sale is my 1972 Lotus Elan Sprint convertible. This car has had a body off restoration and roughly 1100 miles on it since then. Current mileage is 60,859.

This car has a new Lotus chassis reinforced with additional weldments in all high stressed areas, and has been powder coated black. All suspension has been reconditioned and powder coated, as well. We have replaced all bushings, brake lines, bearings, wiring harness and relays. All brake calipers have been rebuilt with stainless pistons. Installed is a NOS dual brake master cylinder and new clutch master and slave cylinders.

The dash has been refinished and all instruments have been reconditioned. Car comes with Chapman original steering wheel. All necessary chrome bright work has been reconditioned, as needed. A Sony CD player has been installed, all interior carpet is new, as is the convertible top. Car comes with a tonneau cover, as well.

The body has been completely stripped of all paint and fiberglass, with all damage, jell coat cracks having been repaired. The car was repainted in original Lotus Lagoon Blue over Cirrus white, and then clear coated.

The engine was rebuilt by Williams Racing. It is 1700cc with 40 DCOE Weber Carburetors. Has 6 bolt crankshaft and Dave Bean cartridge water pumpand newfront timing cover. This Lotus has 131 HP and 123 ft. lbs. of torque. Dyno sheets are available. Has a new RD Enterprises high torque starter, alternator, ceramic coated exhaust header and electric fuel pump. Radiator has been cored and uprated. The engine is not original to the car.

The transmission has been reconditioned and new syncro rings, bushes and oil seals have been installed. The 3.77 differential has been reconditioned with new bearings and seals, half shafts replaced with CV joints. There is a new clutch and pressure plate.
