1966 Lotus Elan Base 1.6L

This Lotus Elan, Model 26 is very rare with the SE package. Very well detailed and great fun to drive. One of the best Elans out there with some engine modifications to give excellent performance and that "Lotus Feel".(138 HP (?) dual Webbers nicely presented. just great fun. Two sets of wheels, original wheels come with the car. Fiber glass is great, chassis is great. Being an S2 it has the neater rear end treatment, with single lights on either side, Improved weather equipment, window locks, stronger running gear than the S1 models that preceded the S2. This SE, Special Equipment version has center lock, knock off style wheels, two sets, one steel and one as shown, come with this S2. These are peg drive in nature. There are several other features that were added to the SE version among the most obvious, outside of the SE badging was the increase in performance. This car has an even stronger engine than the reported 110 HP of the original SE models. This beautiful Lotus Elan or model 26 has been further enhanced with splined rear axels, 138 HP Engine, Improved cooling system with electric fan, hawker battery with kill switch in trunk, 3 point Williams shoulder/seat belts, alternator, electronic ignition, rev limiter, new Koni Shocks, new cassette type water pump, Italian type air horns, Talbot Belin side mirrors, rear shock tower brace, Moto-lita wood rim steering wheel, and Panasport 5"x!3' alloy wheels with virtually new Michelin XAS, 155HR13 tires.
