Lotus Europa TCS 1974-ORIGINAL 26,600+ miles

They are original only once.This is NOT a numbered JPS car.This is an original unrestored car. Below is the description as given to me by the guy I bought it off. It had been sitting for many years and I re-commissioned it. I removed the brake boosters (they did not work), ypassed them and replaced both the brake master cylinder and front calipers, lushed the brake system and installed new fluid. The electric fan was inefficient and I replaced it with a modern unit. I rebuilt the carbs with new parts and replaced the points, ondenser with a Petronix electronic ignition kit. I installed a new rotor, ap, ires and plugs. New battery, resh oil and and air filter. I tried to keep the tires but they had dried out and I replaced them. The car was so clean when I got it that I did not even need to wash it or vacuum the interior. It is missing the front floor mats, hey were replaced with coco mats. The paint is original and has a few blemishes that I tried to illustrate in the photos. I am no expert on these cars but I understand the paint from the factory was not up to a contemporary standard. The hood struts work in cold weather but not in hot (I guess the heat thins the oil out). I use a stick as a hood prop. When I got the car the shifter action was sloppy. The bushings were worn and tired. I rebushed and adjusted the shifting linkage, t works fine now. The rev counter does not work, have been told it is because of the electronic ignition, ut I do not know for sure.It has the original documentation and wheel center caps that go with the car.I might be forgetting something I did and if I remember I will add it later.I have driven it less than 2,000 miles since buying it and have enjoyed the car. It has been reliable and never let me down. Because it has a mechanical fuel pump I have to turn it over a bit to start it after it has sat for a while, ut pull out the choke and turn her over and once she fires one can close the choke pretty quickly (in summer).Previous owners description:"Original factory paint- black with gold pin stripes - champagne interior. 3 owner car - 25M actual miles - 1600cc twin overhead cam Lotus Ford engine.Two Zenith carbs- 5 speed transmission- body and interior in good to very good shape- always garage stored- two complete workshop manuals and owners handbook. Car History:It was originally owned by an Eastern Airlines Pilot in New York City. He and another pilot owned twin cars. The other pilot crashed his car; this pilot sold this car to a man in New London, onnecticut. He had the car for 4 years (I think). I purchased it from him in 1979.In 1990 I replaced all the hoses and alternator belt and installed a new exhaust system. I drove it until 1995. It's been stored in my garage ever since. It is in running condition. I start it several times a year.There is a small fogging in the windshield in the driver's upper corner- it's like between the laminates --- it's been there since I bought the car and it hasn't gotten any bigger."The car will not leave my possession until all funds have fully cleared. I am not a mechanic and recommend the car be checked by a professional before being driven and there is no warranty whatsoever on this 41 year old vehicle.I can deliver the car to the Port of Baltimore for overseas buyers.
