You are bidding on a really great example of a 1978 Lincoln Continental. I bought the car in 2003 from a mechanic who bought from the dealership in which it was taken on trade and he was flipping it. I was told that it had been a one owner car and that the miles were original. He said he had replaced the exhaust, one brake work, harged the a/c,and put on new tires. Based on al my experience with the car since I tend to believe him although I cannot document any of it. I have only put about 1000 miles on the car since I bought it, ever in rain. It has lived in a car capsule in a barn at our farm. It is exactly the same as the day I got it. There area few rust blemishes on the car that have not progressed in 13 years and the seats seem to need more support. The radio and clock do not work and the a/c is hot but probably just needs charged. While it looks great I think the car has had some paint work and if I were to keep it I would probably have it re painted. The car is great fun and a real head turner but a real car guy would want to do some work to it to make show quality. It has a 400 C.I. Engine that runs perfectly. I think all the smog devices were removed as the exhaust note is a little "muscleish". It always starts right up and cruises well at highway speeds. It has a clean title and is available to be surveyed or driven by appointment. The car is being sold as is with no warranties or representations. This is a no reserve auction, will sell it to the highest bidder at the end of the auction. Payment for vehicle must come to my pay pal account prior to vehicle being picked up.
