About this vehicleThis 1948 Lincoln Continental is an original. The owner has had it for 5+ years. The vehicle runs great and is mainly used for weekend drives.Seller's NotesThis 1948 Lincoln Continental was purchased by me at the Feb 2012 Central Texas Museum of Automotive History owned by the late Dick Burdick. If you are from the hobby you know what a special collection he had, and how special the auction of 90 of his cars was that day. 2000 people showed up from all over the US to bid and I was lucky to get one of his cars.
I bought this car because the color (ruby red) was so pretty. The paint and chrome and interior were all nice, so it mainly needed mechanical work. I have all my receipts from Marc's Garage in Fort Worth who recently serviced the car, including $14,146 of repairs in January 2013 and $22,348 of repairs in December 2013. The V12 was rebuilt by a specialist, plus the transmission, water pump, wide whitewall tires, brakes, wiring harness, radiator recore, fuel tank, starter, wheel cylinders, carb, and much more. Three on the tree. Hydraulic windows work fine. Radio and clock do not - just did not get to those.
I am a collector and don't drive this car as much as it should be. It had 58,411 miles at the time of purchase and has only 58,725 now, so I have driven it sparingly. I keep it in a climate controlled garage under a tan covercraft cover (included). I am selling many of my cars and hope this Lincoln will find an owner who enjoys it as I did.
