Car description

1966 Continental 4 Door Convertible. Iconic suicide doors! Older paint job (25+ year ago), runs well, drives anywhere, brand new brake system front to back and I added a dual master cylinder from a 67 for safety, new steering center link, fuel lines replaced, rebuild driver arm rest box, new window switches, repaired driver door wiring harness, replaced deck lid screw jack motor (bought from John Cashman). New battery works the top with the car off no problem. I have done other minor repairs but can't list everything.
Options:This is a very rare car with every factory option that was available and was also special ordered with bucket seats. They were NOT available with this trim code in Aqua! Special order number is on the door tag.-Bucket Seats with Console-Tilt Wheel-Cruise Control-Headlight Dimmer System (unit was removed I have another if you desire that will go with the car)-AM 8 Track Radio with Stereo-Automatic Climate Control AC System-Power Door Locks-Power Vent Windows-Limited Slip AxleThat should be all of the options available in 66 for convertible. However, there was an optional Passenger Side Mirror, which I do have one from a 1966 coupe. If buyer wishes to add this to the purchase I will gladly do so at an additional cost which can be handled outside of this listing. Its in great shape and may just add that extra value to an already extremely rare and highly optioned 66 convertible!

Brakes:Brake system completely overhauled. I had a brand new brake system on my 67 coupe and decided it was too rusty to fix so I took everything off (has 2 miles on it) and put it on the 66. New calipers, hoses, lines, new dual master cylinder, brakes, drums, everything was new and put onto this car. Stops great (had no brakes when I bought it). Ebrake works if pushed a few times it grabs so needs an adjustment and works.
Windows:Switches were all replaced with NOS, Rebuilt, and good used switches as needed. Completely new master switches, new bypass. Auto drop work on both doors, but each has its glitch that needs adjusted or repaired. The passenger side auto drop works fine up and down as it should. However, then the window is down and you close the door it goes back up automatically! I think it just needs the auto drop switch adjusted. Driver rear auto drop goes down but will not go back up. That's it thought; all windows still work from the master switches and at each door. Windows are always down anyway but the only pain the butt is that passenger side that goes back up which I am willing to look at if I get the chance! Its not broken!
Issues I know about:-Rear axle seal is leaking-There is rust under the car at the front splash shields (not structural but needs replaced eventually)-Past body work is evident in lower quarters and front fenders-Headlights work intermittently on low beam but high beam works anytime (I have a switch to try but it has to be an auto headlight dimmer switch only)-The Auto Drop rear window on driver side doe not want to go back up on its own when door is shut-When rear passenger window is down and door is closed the window rolls itself back up completly for some reason (switch needs adjusted)-Steering column bushing will need replaced eventually (dangerous to leave any 60s Lincoln idle in park with a bad bushing, they can jump from gear from vibration) Easy to fix but.-No Auto Headlight Dimmer unit, but one can be included if you care to install for purists sake (they usually do not work)-Tires need replaced and I believe a belt is starting to shift on a tire in rear. Can feel a little side to side when rolling slowly under 20mph.-Needs a passenger side exhaust manifold-Leaks a little bit of everything! Most do! Nothing gushing but I check the fluids every 50-100 miles or so or when I think of it if its been a few weeks.-Exhaust only has Turbo Mufflers so little throaty but I enjoy the sound-Power antenna button on radio is not working or unhooked. The antenna works I checked it at the harness behind the front splash shield.-Front driver fender is buckled or crunched a little from previous owner loosing brakes and he coasted to a stop hitting a dumpster! He repaired and plated the front bumper but left the body work damage so I would say with the repairs to the lower fender and the buckle it should just have a new fender if you restore the car. I like the dents, adds character to the already distressed paint.-Paint is faded and appears to be two different shades on driver side-Weather seals will be needed all around if you plant to take it on any long trips, water came in during a very heavy storm on driver side front corner where top meet the windshield. Not an issue with light rain as I towed it to Michigan from PA for the LCOC nationals along with a truck full of parts and we hit some moderate rain. No water made it inside. Washing the car it does usually but only at that same spot and the deck lid corner weather strip is falling apart.-AC does not blow cold air (have not even tried to look into it)-Vacuum leak but door locks seem to work when running or just turned off.-Its 54 years old so there are going to be other issues I did not mention or notice but this is what I have noticed and some of these issues I hoped to get done before winter but I did not have time.
The Good:Original interior is in great survivor shape! Dash is perfect, chrome inside and out is nice (needs a few peak trim pieces but your welcome to a few of them from my spare parts if wanted), steering wheel is in great shape (about 99% of the are severely cracked), runs well, stops on a dime, all the interior lights are working, cigarette lighters work (use them for charging my phone). The hard to find parts are good like deck lid and the very hard to find "package tray" is in great shape. Top is in good shape, glass is good, battery box and sub frames are solid and so are the floors with the exception of where the splash shields meet the floors if thats even considered the floor? Trunk pan is good. Top relays and pumps looks nice and newer (old owner had top and windows serviced at some point but I clearly had to rebuild the window switches and harnesses from the ground up). Awesome daily driver condition as it is! I drive it 2-5 times a week in the good weather with top down, I take it home from work (I deal with 61-69 Lincolns only, parts and cars) and its always in my front yard turning heads! Very nice color combination with black top. Every single option on the list (never seen so many options before and special order at that). Enjoy it as is like I do or give her the treatment she deserves and restore the car back to her former glory! I also have a 95% rust free 66 convertible parts car that can be negotiated with the sale after this ends. It is for sale locally as a project or parts car. It was also a special order Aqua bucket seat convertible! Missing interior thought and bumpers and some trim. Rest of the car is complete. Excellent body part donor. CA rust free body and floors. Tiny bubble of rust here or there on lower quarters but thats it. Again, this is on another 66 convertible, not this one listed here. There is NO rust showing anywhere from the outside on the 66 listed so it appears to be original paint but I can guarantee it is not.

FIND ANOTHER 66 or 67 Convertible as loaded as this one and you can drive it as is now at this price and has a desirable color combination as this one does. I hate to see it go, but his is what I do; find them and get them back on the road for the next person to enjoy. You decide what to do with it cosmetically while you drive it! Supposedly it was a local car its whole life between South Western PA and South Eastern Ohio (where I bought it only 25 miles away). I was stopped at the car show in Pittsburgh by a woman who thinks her Uncle owned this car and he bought it from the original owner. If she can verify the ownership and send me any documentation I will gladly pass it on!
