This Lincoln Continental is in wonderful original condition. It has a known documented history dating back to at least 1973. The car was owned and stored for many years (at least 35) in a private collection here in Warwick, R.I.. The owner was the owner/operator of a famous restaurant on Federal Hill, Providence R.I., Joe Marzilli, of Joe Marzilli's Old Canteen Restaurant on Atwells Ave Providence, Rhode Island...when he passed away in 2007 his family sold his cars. Title documents very clearly state this..The Old Canteen is still in open. The car sold hands three times in a short period of time. (I bought it in 2011), during this time the car was named as the Favorite Ford at the Hemmings Motor News Summer Cruise Night July 9 July 23 2009 while owned by Frank Cattone, and was later featured on their Hemmings Classic Car Calendar in 2013. I believe Mr. Cattone installed the New York Grille badge shown with the calendar photo. It will be in the trunk and the 1960 Rhode island front plate will ship with the car. I installed that plate given the car's long connection to Rhode Island, It is in the October 2009 Hemmings Motor News. It eventually found its way back to Warwick after time in New Jersey, Upstate New York, and Akron, Ohio. I personally drove this car back to Rhode Island from Akron Ohio on a 600 hundred mile drive in the Lincoln, driven in one day without a problem other than the battery was in shot, needing replacing, so it required jumps at breaks and fuelings. It has an all original interior, the carpets are probably one of the best remaining examples of factory original carpet. The car runs and brakes well, with a smooth shifting transmission. The exhaust looks new, but was installed when Joe Marzilli owned the car. It has 29000 original miles The dash has no sag or cracks, most sag on passenger side and the gauges lens covers are clear and free of cracks. The steering wheel is excellent and free of cracks. the horn works. The glass is excellent.and clear without cracks or discoloring. There is no frame rot or past repair of rot. The sound deadening rustproofing under the car and wheel wells is still intact and not peeling. The paint is older, but still looks great. Smooth, free of orange peel effect, some crazing on the hood only, but noticed only up close. The power windows, wipers, power seat, lights, heating system, emergency brakes and its release button work. The radio is not working. This car has its original factory FoMoCo cap rotor and wires. They have been removed and new ignition tune up parts installed, They were installed when I drove the car 600 miles back to R.I,.but have been updated with new parts, now the originals are stored in the trunk. The trunk has its jack and spare. along with an extra hubcap. The tires were also driven 600 miles on the trip from Ohio to Rhode Island and show no cracks or dry rot. I do not know their age. The spare tire is in the trunk and is probably original to the car or early sixties, the rim is correct grey color, not rusted. Chrome on this car is good for an original 57 year old car. The engine is original and has not been repainted, and the original carburetor and its tag are in the trunk. Another correct carburetor is currently installed, so it comes with the two units. The fuse box sticker on its cover in the engine bay is original and is pretty good. The car sat in Joe Marzilli's carriage house garage on Main Ave along with what I heard was about 21 other cars, he'd collected long ago. The Old Canteen opened in 1958, I spoke with his son, but he seemed to know little of the car's/cars history beyond his father owning them for many years. The car has an excellent professional video that can be viewed on You Tube...1960 Lincoln Continental Mark V You Tube, look in images...look for the Main picture driver's door view...done by castleton1video march 2 2011, dedicated to 'In Remembrance of My Father'...says it all...I believe the video was done while the car was in New Jersey and was not about Joe Marzilli, not sure whose father they refer to...the car is currently Rhode Island Registered, and I have clear title. Shipping is the buyer's cost. I will not release until funds transfer has cleared in bank...Deposit thru paypal...wire transfer or cash on pickup of car...
