Car description

A marque such as this comes along but rarely. The price above reflects the condition of this car - the best of its type I have ever seen (on four continents) The vehicle has been in our family for five years during which time it has been carefully driven less than 5000 miles. I believe we are the third owner. Completely original from roof to wheel trims - not a restoration project. The exterior paintwork's condition is obvious from the photographs. The interior superb also. The leather seats are as comfortable as they were in 1972.

The mechanicals are faultless, it handles much as you would expect from a new car. Tires, steering, brakes, suspension are in top order. Having never needed any mechanical work whatsoever, all we have ever replaced is the battery. Vinyl roof is immaculate.
Purists might point out the (lightly) cracked front-sidelight covers, minor stone-chips on the automatic headlight covers, a non-intrusive split on the central dashboard and an inoperative Cartier clock. (It actually works occasionally) Given every other positive, I can live with this. It is after all a forty-five year old car. The radio, power aerial and everything else work except the A/C which would need an expensive re-build to comply with modern code. Way cheaper to drive with the (electric) windows down. This by the way, provides excellent cooling without the need for A/C at all. The huge 460 cubic inch engine still blows most cars off the road...for those who care to indulge in such pointless shenanigans.

A $76 copy of "Hit the Road Jack" in which this car is listed (see images 8 and 9) will be given to the successful purchaser.

The successful buyer will also inherit the original keys attached to the original Mark lV key ring (pictured)

Genuine buyers only. The Reserve price is not set at give-away levels. It is already some six thousand dollars less than the book value of a Mark lV in this condition.

Any successful overseas buyers, specifically in Europe or Australia, must of course arrange their own shipping.
