Car description |

Every vintage vehicle has its story of survival. Here is the story on this one.
I purchased this car from an older gentleman who had bought it from Turnpike Ford in Gallipolis, Ohio, around 1987. His best friend and coworker in the mines was the former owner and had traded it in. Around 1995 he experienced some carburetor trouble and had to replace it. At about the same time, he had to move from Ohio to Maryland for work. He kept the car stored at his home in Ohio in a concrete-floor garage from 1995 through 2017. The car never moved from that spot until I bought it.
Needless to say, many new parts were installed to get the car back on the road. Since January, I have replaced the following: oil and filter, radiator, fuel pump, gas tank and sending unit, battery, plug wires and plugs, distributor cap, air filter, coolant, steering coupling, four new tires, belts, and air pump. Other minor items were replaced, and a complete transmission service was done. This car now runs, drives, stops, and is licensed and insured. The motor sounds very strong. As with any old car that has sat for this long, I'm sure some minor work will still need to be done. I have receipts showing that I have spent almost $2600 in repairs. These receipts will accompany the car.
Here are some repairs that I know it needs. The vinyl top is in poor shape. There have been small repairs made to the body. There is a small dent in the driver's side front fender, and I have shown that in one of the pictures. The radio is not factory and needs to be replaced. There is a small tube that connects to the air filter that is broken. The driver's side seat control does not work in the forward position. The trunk lock is broken, and consequently you have to open it with a flat-head screwdriver. This car would be suitable for a driver, but currently it would not be considered a show car. However, for a 41-year-old, unrestored Ohio car, it maintains an attractive appearance.
I have at least three sets of keys, the original build sheet that I found in the springs of the rear seat, and a repair manual. I have a clear Ohio title in my name.
This auction is for U.S. bidders only. Forms of payment that will be accepted are cash at time of pickup or a certified bank check. I will not release the vehicle until funds have cleared. My bank typically puts a seven-business-day hold on bank checks. I do not ship. If shipping is required, it will be the sole responsibility of the successful bidder. I can help with loading it onto your trailer. I have set the reserve at a very modest level. Thanks for your interest. Good luck, and happy bidding.
