1979 Lincoln Continental 2-Door Town Coupe 400-2V
Full size classic luxury car, n show condition. All original and nearly showroom new look! NO rust.
Finished in lustrous Cream Paint (6P) with a complementing Cream roof and Cream/Gold (JY) velour interior, his car's handsome appearance is further enhanced by optional Medium Champagne pinstripes and forged aluminum wheels. The exterior finish has a mirror-like reflection, s does its abundance of chrome and bright-work. Similarly, he interior of this car is in virtually showroom condition, nd the interior door panels, eating areas, ashboard, nd headliner appear as new. The original tires are on this car, ichelin 225-15x and show no dry-rot as the car has been in NM approx. 35 years and in Indiana in a heated building.
Documentation backs up the low miles. VIN: 9Y81S731739
Owned by ONE family since purchased brand new. NO rust. 22,720 miles. Showroom paint condition. Recently replaced master cylinder brakes and recently rebuilt carburetor. A/C works fine. Headliner is excellent and interior also spotless. Chrome is also very nice too. Wood grain interior trim, ending some extra 8 tracks along to the buyer also. Carpets were used in back to line the trunk with items they stowed. Love the meticulous care this car has shown. No paint issues anywhere, really special find for the right collection. Never smoked in.
Aside from being a presence on the road, hat makes "a Lincoln a Lincoln" is an abundance of comfort and convenience features, nd this car does not disappoint. Power features and optional equipment include the following:
- Power windows
- Power vent windows
- Power door locks
- 6-way power seats
- Power antenna
- AM/FM stereo with 8-track cassette
- Remote trunk release
- Speed control
- Automatic temperature control
- Tilt steering wheel
- Cartier digital clock
- Rear window defroster
- Integrated coach lamps
All options work as they should, ith the only flaw being a small separation in the driver door, here the vinyl trim separated under the door handle.
In addition to having only 22,720 original miles, ther factors contribute to the collectability of this Town Coupe—one of which being its rarity among other 1979 Continentals. Of the total production of 92,600 1979 Continentals, nly 16,142 (17%) were two door models, nd even fewer were Town Coupes, approximately 1800) making this car quite rare. Another factor contributing its rarity is the owner, n Exxon oil professional's wife ordered cloth interior, here the standard for such luxury cars were leather. She had a leather interior Cadillac, hich was her daily driver and was not satisfied with leather trim.

its original 400 CID V-8 engine and 3-speed automatic transmission, his car runs and drives as well as it looks, oth a testament to the care this car has received by its owners. Originally delivered to Kansas in early 1979, his car was taken to it's Albuquerque home, here it remained for the next 30+ years. The owner's nephew purchased it and brought it to Evansville, N just a few years ago. You will also appreciate the original owner's manual, arranty identification card, nd sales brochure that will be provided with sale.
If a rare ultra-low mileageluxury car is what you desire, his Town Coupe is a wonderful choice.
