You are looking at a 1966 Lincoln Continental that I have owned for the last 4 years.I do have both of the original license plates for it, nd as you will notice in the picture of the front of the vehicle, t still has the Original BEVERLY HILLS LINCOLN MERCURY license bracket on it from where it was purchased. My favorite part of this vehicle are the Suicide doors that work & operate well.I purchased this vehicle at the Pomona Swap Meet with the Clear Title in hand. The vehicle has not been registered in 20 years. The information that I got from the person that I purchased it from was that he had parked it when it was still running next to his house in the Coachella desert for the last twenty years. He said that it started running rough, o he parked it. When I got it from him the car was in fairly rough (but decent) shape. The thing that I was most happy with was that it was for the most part a very complete car, hich is what I was looking for. Apparently the house that it was next to had been re-stucco'd while the car was there, o the passenger side of the car had a lot of dry stucco on it. I had to spend hours soaking the stucco in water to turn it soft again & eventually it all washed off of the car. The front windshield had a large baseball sized hole right through the middle of it, o I had the windshield replaced right away with a new one from Best Price Auto Glass located here in San Bernardino, A. Best Price also got three out of the four Power Windows functional again. They were not able to fix the drivers front door window operation. I believe that it may need a new power window motor. The vehicle had no headliner in it when I got it, o I had Evans Auto Upholstery here in San Bernardino, A install a New Jade Green headliner in it to match the original interior. The trunk did not have keys when I got the car, o I had new keys made for it, nd when I finally got the trunk open, found out that it had most all of the other parts of the car that were not bolted on, s well as doubles of other parts in the trunk. To get the vehicle running, had one of my technician's here at Blodgett's Automotive where I work rebuild the carburetor with a rebuild kit that I purcahsed from Arrowhead Carburetor also here in San Bernardino, A. I also had him remove the fuel tank & flush out the old bad fuel, s well as repair the fuel tank sending unit for the fuel gauge. I had new spark plugs installed and just basic engine tuning performed which got the vehicle up & running. Yes, he engine does run rough, nd the vehicle does smoke. Upon further investigation we found out that 2 of the cylinders only have 10lbs of compression. So essentially it is only running on 6 out of the 8 cylinders. I did actually drive this vehicle to the Routte 66 Rendevous here in San Bernardino, A in 2011. It attracted a lot of attention in a positive way. Before I continue, will finish telling you what else I have had done to the car. The roof on these vehicles were originally Vinyl. The vinyl on mine was missing when I got the car. The roof had some surface rust on it. I had my body man who has been with us for approx 15 years & has over 40 years of american muscle steel work under his belt, and and prep the roof, nd then he repainted it Jet Black with acrylic enamel single stage paint. There are dings and dents around some areas of the vehicle as the pictures will show, ut overall this vehicle is in extremely good condition in my opinion. The engine does have factory air conditioning, ut it does not work. I have seen a few of these cars on the road, ut none of them appear to look as clean as mine does. Of course, hey may be in better running condition, ut the engine can be repaired. My original intentions for this vehicle were to fully restore it to be a family leisure vehicle. Of course, ver time, hings in my family have changed, o my priorities have to change with them. Basically, he vehicle is in running and driving condition, ut runs rough, nd smokes. Oh yes, efore I forget, did have the Power Brake Booster rebuilt, he Brake Master Cylinder replaced, oth of the Rear Wheel Cylinders replaced and New Rear Brake Shoes. The front brakes were fine, o we adjusted & bled the brake system. The steering free play is a bit loose & I believe needs to have a steering knuckle replaced, ut if the vehicle is driven with care, t does not drive to bad. It needs work, hat is no doubt, ut if you are interested in this type of vehicle, t would be a great project car for you. I do have the Clear Title for this vehicle. I also had Scotty's Muffler here in San Bernardino, A do some exhaust repair on the vehicle to. I have had this vehicle appraised between $6,000 & $8,000 in the condition that it is in. I feel that my price is very fair. Thank you for taking the time to look. Goodluck with your bidding.Thank you, ack Blodgett.
