My personal 1975 land rover series 3 109 ex military truck for sale. within the last year i have gone over the truck, it is a driver quality truck that i regularly drive around town.
Sandblasted entire body removing many layers of military paint down to bare alum and lightly primed in flat black. Care was taken to leave as much of the galvanized metal on but we did blast through in a few areas. I would like to paint it but land rover has so many great colors in this era its hard to pick one!*exhaust system and exhaust manifold, down pipe, muffler is all new with factory gaskets*pierce intake manifold conversion with rebuilt webber 32/36 dgv carb all new intake and top end gaskets and bolts new air filter etc*new spark plugs and cap,*Converted to Petronix Electronic ignition.*new brake hoses, many hard lines, master cylinder, clutch lines wheel cylinders etc replaced* dashboard recovered, steering wheel leather wrapped, new exmoor seats, shift knobs, etc*new exmoor canvas truck top $900*new exmoor bikini top $300*gauges taken apart and lightly reconditioned.*5 Brand new tires all around Mudstar 235/85/16*new alternator and belt*New all metal radiator (not the cheap plastic one)*new hoses.*all fluids replaced, axles, transfer case, transmission*new grille and have original grille too.*e-brake sorted and works*new license plate lights and rear lights ( i retained the screw on lights where possible)*new mirrors, wing mirrors and rear view.*replaced much of the hard to find dashboard surround plastic.*new fuel sending unit*new fuel pump*new fuel tank (not yet installed.*New galvanized door hinges all around.*new rubber seals for the windsheild cowl air vents*new wheelbearing kit and galvanized dust covers not yet installed*new speedo cable.*new battery. almost every light bulb done too.*I have door tops as well sorry didn't take a picture with them on.*Clean Pennsylvania title in my name
Great driver quality truck, Cons are the rear cross member is rusty, there are holes in the floor in the front of the footwell that i have floor mats over currently and some rot by the front leaf spring mounts, and on the lower side of grill and some around top of bulkhead. It should be easy to weld since all the paint is off and you just have to remove the light coat of paint i have on it. It hasn't bothered me enough to fix it. if you were to do a nice paint job its something you would obviously do beforehand. the truck still presents very well and honestly. you can see i am not trying to cover or hide anything like many of these "freshly restored" series trucks on ebay hiding all kinds of surprises under their fresh spray job.
I also have the trucks complete military service history from the british military. It spent most of its life in the Royal school of artillery towing around 105mm guns. it was in military service until 1995, it may have spent a brief period of time on Bosnia but that is unclear. I have way more information if you are curious
This is a ex military 109 it is not a MILITARY 109, it is a civilian spec purchased by the military so it came in 12 volts but had some military bits added such as the screw on lights and other small things.
Starts right up every time, doesn't smoke. and of course it leaks oil!
