Here is a 1975 Land Rover Series III 88 military spec vehicle in absolute original condition. This vehicle has never been worked on by anybody and is itself a virtual time machine. I had plans to strip down and restore. but the uniqueness of this car has me at a standstill. I believe it is a treasure exactly how it is. sporting the Belgium military markings. The car starts up and drives. but I would not consider it to be in the shape of a "daily driver. " It is a fresh barn find and will need some normal maintenance (brakes. fluids) before it can really be used on the road. I have all new brake parts. shoes cylinders. ready to be installed. This model is an ultra rare FFR lightweight version. It has a transfer case. but no front output. This vehicle is so light that it can still fly over any trail or obstacle. I recently purchased a hardtop and rear door that are also included. Clear NC title in my name. Last NC state inspection passed in 2005. This configuration is one of the rarest Land Rover's in the world. This beauty is only one of 1600 ever made and was a specialty order for the Belgium military. All of the night time Hella convoy blackout lighting is still in place. More information can be found here History. After doing a little research it seems this was a Federal Police vehicle as part of the "Directorate of Special Units. " The DSU markings along with the Belgian insignia remain on the rear of the rover.
