Car description |

1972 Series III Land Rover converted to coil sprung, disc brakes, 300 TDI. All work done by East Coast Rover in 1999. Info on build can be found here: http://www.eastcoastrover.com/restorations.html and http://www.eastcoastrover.com/SIIITdi.html. I have paperwork from original conversion. Approximate cost in 1999 was $50k, or $80k in 2020 dollars.
Trucks runs well with no issues. Galvanized chassis and aluminum body, so no rust there. Some rust present on suspension components. New clutch. Firestone mud tires have about 500 miles on them. Some scrapes and dents on body, as expected. Has been wheeled lightly but never abused. First 3 pics of exterior were taken before new tires were put on.
Vehicle is currently being inspected and evaluated by a Rover mechanic to assess what work, if any, needs to be done. I can provide that report when I receive it.
You will not find another Rover like this. To do the conversion today would cost $100k. It's fast and comfortable and can cruise on the highways as well as crawl on the trails.
