Please use ebay messaging for a prompt response to any questions. Vehicle listed at no reserve.
I imported this Defender 90 from Italy. It has the 200TDI engine (11L genuine Defender unit) which was recently rebuilt in Italy at a cost of about 3500 Euros, maybe 25 or 30 miles on engine. It is titled by me, the original importer in Virginia, all import paperwork and clear Virginia title is available. The vehicle is in very good, original condition, has not been restored and paint is mostly original with some repaint on doors and roof sides.
Factory Left Hand Drive, color is Alpine White, VIN is SALLDVAF8HA703860. It has 139765 miles or 224930 kilometers but engine was just rebuilt. Full headliner with rear seats installed ( need bottom cushions which are available separately for about 40 dollars each, complete new seats are only 99 each in the US including shipping).
5 Boost wheels with new lug nuts, has a steering guard installed. New ignition switch, locking fuel cap, two new seat bases, new seat back covers ( I did get a few rashes in them on the back bottoms when trying to snap them on but they are in a spot out of sight being behind the seats and not noticeable, otherwise covers are brand new) new rear mudflaps as well as new light lenses just put in. Boost wheels are not new so they have some nicks etc but they are genuine Land Rover, not aftermarket. New Terra Firma 30mm wheel spacers fitted. New LR oval on grill as well. A new rear door hinge pin kit, complete new parking lights and hazard switch will be installed prior to sale.
Paint is mostly original with two dents, chips, scratches, flaws etc that one would expect from an unrestored vehicle this age. Doors and roof sides show repaint. Frame is in good condition and solid, the rear crossmember (bumper) shows little repair. Door bottoms, floors are all good as well.
It runs and drives fine, engine oil still shows clear on dipstick being a very recent rebuild, anyone familiar with diesel knows how it instantly turns black. Gears shift fine.
Rear door has defroster wiring present but has non heated glass, heated glass would need to be installed to make the defroster functional. Rear door also needs a check strap and the key to the rear door lock is missing (may show up from Italy by the time this car is sold but I am including a set of three lock cylinders all keyed the same to fix it).
Front wipers work fine but one wiper spindle needs replaced as it is broken (it does work as it turns but can't attach the wiper arm to it). It's about a 20 pound part and simple to install. Interior dome light needs replaced (wiring is good as it did work when I got it but the fixture subsequently broke and doesn't work now, easy fix). So all easy stuff to do with inexpensive parts.
Even though it has a rebuilt engine I do not guarantee or recommend long distance drives in any old car without a thorough mechanical inspection of the entire vehicle so if a buyer asks can it be driven to Colorado, I will say it should be shipped. My test drive was limited to around town driving.
This is a 25 year old vehicle and unrestored, so it is not perfect. I have described the vehicle honestly but please expect the normal wear and tear for a vehicle this age. It does have a few dents, scratches, chips, paint flaws etc as mentioned above. I can ship it anywhere at buyer's cost.
Serious buyers only please, please have funds available if you bid. There are select finance companies that will provide loans to purchase classic cars but they do require excellent credit so if you plan to finance, do your research as financing a classic car is not like financing newer vehicles. Woodside credit is one classic car loan company that I worked with for a buyer and it seemed to be smooth enough experience.
Vehicle sold AS IS, no warranty expressed or implied. Payment is due 3 days after auction close, deposit due immediately by paypal. Thank you for looking at this listing..On Apr-29-19 at 14:41:32 PDT, seller added the following information:
