I have the privilege of offering for sale this 1965 series 2A Land Rover, it is a one owner that has been meticulously cared for and loved for all these years I'm selling it for the original owner and here are a few words from him personally. The 1965 land rover is a 109" wheel base, series II a Left hand drive, two door, regular Rover with a sun roof and sides and a station wagon door in the back replacing the tailgate and flip-up lid. It is not a collectible grade Rover. It was completely rebuilt in 1996 for everyday use, with 14,000 miles since then. It has a galvanized zinc frame, a GM 6 cyl. 292 factory new engine, 3.36 differentials and an overdrive that gives top gear 20mph per 1000 revolutions on the tach. It has new, heavy duty springs and 16" wheels; hauling a ton is no sweat. It has an auxiliary 12 gal. gas tank. The headliner needs re-attaching and in general, this Rover needs some attention to make it sparkle, for which I no longer have time nor energy, and so I want to pass on the car I love but keep the memories. One of which is a trip from Chicago to Fairbanks on the Alaska highway, before it was paved. Another, years of driving all over desert Nevada in the 60s and 70s which resulted in a photo book called 'Nevada A Journey' (you can get a copy on the internet). Yes, it's a beast, but a lovable one. Oh, almost forgot: I have the original Rover repair manuals and the separate parts catalogue. You have to see these to believe them. I will be offering this vehicle at a No Reserve auction please bid accordingly to win I will handle all delivery to the winning buyer I'm starting this auction at $15,000 any questions feel free to call me at 413 977 9684 thanks and good luck bidding
