1989 Land Rover Range Rover Classic, Chamonix white European luxury 4x4

What a way to invest your tax return. this is my personal low mile vehicle driven daily for the past several years. The Range Rover is in wonderful condition and runs as close to new as they come. no mechanical issues at all. In 1989 Land Rover Range Rover Classic's did not yet have the complicated and unreliable upgrades such as the air suspension and antilock brakes. which made this particular vehicle one of the most reliable. toughest. and simplest to work on. My Rover has been in a dry. rust free environment most of it's life so you will find virtually no rust. It is very obvious how well it's been taken care of for it's 25+ years of being on the road. As far as I see. nbsp;I would bet that it is the cleanest original 89 in the USA. I will start describing it's condition from bumper to bumper in full detail- Begining with it's NEW British made front brush guard which has swing out type light guards so that you may easily access the lights to clean & maintain with recent off road PIAA lights installed. Everything is in tact with no parts missing or damaged. Paint in the front of the vehicle is original. remarkably has very minor chips on the hood from regular driving. no dents or damage otherwise. under the hood youll find the 3. 9 V8 engine in excellent condition (oil always changed with Rotella T 15w40) every 2k miles. recent upgraded head gasket replacement professionally done (I have the receipt). Many newer parts include alternator. battery. all filters. spark plugs. wires. stepper motor. nbsp;sensors. nbsp;relays. radiator flush. water pump. fan clutch. all belts. a/c conversion. thermostat. hoses. TPS. and a brand new original factory Lucas distributor which was very pricey and hard to find. The tires are new all around (BFG KM2) and have less than 500 miles on them. mounted on Land Rover Defender wheels which were very hard to find but well worth the hunt. nbsp;powdercoated flat black right before tires were mounted (500 miles ago) with the original center caps. Heated windshield was replaced recently as well. no chips no scratches. with new wipers. Driver and passenger doors do have minor dings from careless people opening their doors aka "door dings" but for 25+ years of parking. I'd say pretty minor. Overall interior is an 8. 5 out of 10. again for it's year theres nothing missing and everything works (light's. clock. working air conditioning (converted) and heater. nbsp;ODO. tilt and slide electric sunroof. nbsp;turn signals/hazard. dimmer. nbsp;dome lights. 4 power windows. nbsp;power locking front doors/alarm/engine kill switch/auto start option. nbsp;DUAL power adjust seats etc) stereo was replaced with a quality CD player with AUX outlet. nbsp;speakers in the front work but are not great and there are none in the rear. Driver leather seat has 2 areas which need attention (see pic). the seat has split at the seam which if desired can be re-sewn. and has cracking on the inner back corner. all other seats/leather are close to a 10 out of 10. Carpets are in tact. nbsp;no damage. major stains or issues and a NEW headliner replaced with Land Rover fabric. Per my personal preference. rear passenger doors are set up to unlock only by reaching back there and flipping the switch. all the outside paddle/levers work 100%. nbsp;it can easily be converted back with the supplied parts you will receive with the sale. Fresh tinted windows are beautiful (limo in the back. 35% front) professionally done with quality product. I have an ARB roof rack currently installed with a HiLift jack. Rear/trunk has an unused-new OEM wheel with an unused tire. OEM tools in pouch as well. carpet is in remarkable condition. with removeable rear cargo cover. Finally. the rear of the vehicle has a fully functioning rear wiper and washer. locking hatch with new struts. bumper. trim & lights are in remarkable condition. tow package and yes. I even have the Range Rover plug for it (not shown in pics). Introduction1989 was a year of major upgrades in the US Range Rover model. Powertrain Changes: The engine displacement was increased to 3. 9L (3947cc). 3. 7"bore (up from 3. 5” last year) x 2. 8" stroke with 8. 13:1 compression ratio now put out 178 hp @ 4750 rpm. 220 lb-ft torque @ 3250 rpm. New Lucas 14CU Multiport L-Jetronic Electronic Fuel Injection. The 1989 is almost 3 seconds quicker than the 1988 to 60 mph. Top speed is now over 100 to 107 mph. A Bigger radiator with an oil cooler (in addition to the external oil cooler that the Range Rover has had in front of the radiator since 1987) was added. and the electric cooling fans would now stay on to cool the engine after shutdown if necessary. Land Rover recommended using premium unladed fuel in the 3. 9L Engine. Borg-Warner 13-61-004 2 speed transfer case with viscous coupling unit (VCU) provided full time four wheel drive. and now had an automatic progressive center differential lock-up (1. 206 high. 3. 243 low) rather than the manual lock up in 1987 and 1988. It was chain (vs. gear) driven to reduce noise. and still had the built in parking brake. California models no longer had the vacuum advance delay valve that improved emissions. The third catalyst was eliminated. Range Rover was #1 in the J. D. Powers national survey of customer satisfaction at the end of 1989. Four Wheeler magazine named the Range Rover “Four Wheeler of the year” Automobile Magazine calls the Range Rover a “Top Choice” among all suv's and calls it “One of the World’s 10 Best Cars”Range Rover wins the Motorweek award for best multipurpose vehicle in the U. S. Honda Motor Company purchased a 20% interest in the Rover Group this year. Range Rover wins a gold medal for coach work at the Birmingham International Motor Show. Land Rover Discovery 2 door is launched in September at the Frankfurt Auto Show based on the Range Rover chassis and powertrain.
