1983 Land Rover 110 Pick Up
SALLDHAG7AA197733
First registered in the UK October 1983, this was the first year of production for the 110.
This truck has had a replacement Land Rover black steel frame installed (2015), along with a new fuel tank, fuel and brake lines, suspension components etc.
The body is original, paint is original. Scratches, chips, dings and all. The foot-wells and seat-box were repaired when the frame was replaced, new door tops installed with sliding windows.
New seats. Clean headliner. The rear sliding window has the galvanized gutter system around it to accept a canvas tilt, but I do not have the canvas.
86k miles
Original diesel engine and 5 speed transmission. Engine has rebuilt injection pump and new injectors.
Period correct deep dish rims, four good tires, Cooper Discoverer, 85% tread. Spare is a high side mount but is not a matching tire.
The trucks starts and runs nicely, it’s 68 HP is not setting speed records, but the engine is healthy and it’s surprisingly nimble with its 5 speed manual transmission. Lo Range and diff lock position all engage smoothly. New battery. It smokes a little when you start the engine, but clears as soon as you move. I just installed the new injectors and I’m still fiddling with the pump timing to get the best running conditions.
Heavy suspension with the new frame, this truck takes 1000# without flinching.
Needs - Music. The fuel gauge isn’t operational I can’t find the loom wire for the sender. I’m sure it was tucked away when the frame was done. The locker under the driver seat needs a patch. The rear sliding window latch is missing.
The truck is registered in CT and will be sold with a bill of sale, CT doesn’t title vehicles this old. I have classic insurance on this at approximately $160/year with an agreed 18k value.
No computers, ECU’s BCM’s. Does not have self levelling suspension, hill descent or traction control. Non dairy and gluten free, this is the real deal, one of the earliest 110’s in the Defender model type.
I currently have 3 other Rovers and have to let this go. It’s a handsome truck in good working condition and in nerdy Land Rover world, pretty rare to find such an early 110 with the original body in good straight shape.
Please ask any questions or if additional photos are needed. This will be advertised in 3 locations and may be sold at any time. Thanks for your interest.
