FJ40 Land Cruiser AKA "Black Betty"Hello. and welcome to my auction. I am selling my beloved 1976 FJ40 Land Cruiser. This has been my daily driver now for the past few years. The vehicle is in excellent running condition and it has taken me everywhere I have ever waned to go. My wife and I usually take this rig on camping trips and drive hundreds of miles on the highway and off road with it. We have been all over Idaho. Montana. and Wyoming and have never had any problems. The engine has had a lot of work done to it and it runs very well. I also had the fuel system and tank replaced to reduce the gas smell so my wife would actually ride in it. I also had the muffler replaced. I have also had everything gone over and brought back to original specifications. I have changed all of the seals and gaskets from axle to engine. The car will go well over 80mph but I would not recommend it. I also have towed my drift boat on occasion without any problems. Here is a list of what has been done to this vehicle:The engine has been to a machine shop and was checked and cleaned. The head was was redone and the block was cleared. The engine has an all new overhaul kit from CCOT. The carburetor has also been rebuilt. The vehicle has a new clutch from CCOT which is not the heavy clutch but the very nice one that is so much easier on your legs. If you do a lot of 4x4 this clutch is a must. The clutch and brakes have been replaced and are in great condition. The exhaust and muffler have been replaced. The fuel lines. hoses. belts have all been replaced in the last few years. The tires are around three years old and still have hairs on them. I probably have less than 3. 00 miles on them. My daily commute is only around 12 miles total so it hasn't been used much. I also have a few other cars so it really is more of a "drive a few times a week driver" instead of a literal "daily driver. The axles. hubs. tie rods. steering box. transfer case. and transmission have all been gone through and checked. I did replace the gaskets on the axles with a CCOT overhaul kit. The transfer case also needed a couple of gaskets. The 4x4 on this little rig is flawless and it has been used so you won't have to worry about the 4x4. The FJ40 is all original and and it is nearly complete. Here is a list of OEM parts:The front and rear seats are original. The front seats have the original head rests and the rear seats have the kick stands. Both of which are very rare and highly sought after. The dash. instrument clusters. switches are all 100% original and unmodified. The only thing that I am missing is an original radio and a couple other small things. The rear heater is also missing but the front heater has been gone through and it works well. The engine. transfer case and transmission are all OEM. The hubs are Selectro factory upgrades that are really nice. The rims are original as are most all of the parts on the rig. This vehicle does have some rust but it is isolated mostly to the rear of the vehicle and on the drivers side floor boards. The passenger side door has the most rust but I do have a replacement door shell. I will include the shell in the auction. It is an OEM door but I have never replaced the original door because it works fine. The rest of the vehicle is really solid for any car let alone an FJ40I have taken a lot of photos of the vehicle so please contact me if you would like to see more pics. The FJ40 also comes with the coolest safari rack which cost me a lot of cash. I can also keep it if you cannot ship it because it does make the FJ40 really tall. I will take some cash off of the final price if that is the case. You will love and cherish this FJ40 because it is a solid and reliable vehicle. It will start on those cold days in the mountains when you are hunting and it will save your trash on the back roads. We have come to affectionately call this little rig "Black Betty" because she is such a little bad mama. I have a video I will be posting on Youtube of the rig in action. Please use the link below to view the video. I have a complete walkthrough. http://youtu. be/6RE95wgsIj8
