This truck IS a 1988. nbsp; but the ebay VIN decoder can not decode the European VINS on these trucks. nbsp; so sellers must indicate '1980' in their listings. But the trucks IS a 1987/1988 model! As I am typing this ad now. nbsp; I am repairing two things on this truck that will be finished by the time the auction is over : I am replacing the (leaking) heater core. and I will also be replacing the (Hit or miss) starter motor. Both will be replaced with brand-new parts in the upcoming week. This auction is for my 1987 Land Rover Defender 110 w/ low miles (98. 60 as of today- likely to go up as I drive frequently) This 110 has been converted to a 200tdi engine. nbsp; a brilliant upgrade! Engine starts right up and runs. drives great. even from way below freezing. Has plenty of power and no funny noises or unusual smoke. Ready to use now as a daily driver. As you can see. has also been professionally fitted with Air Conditioning! Running a ND compressor on custom bracketry and R134a refrigerant. Many vents in the ceiling of the interior for front. middle and rear passengers/ cargo. This truck spent several years of its life in Africa (I was told) and many other hot climates where AC was necessary. nbsp; and now YOU can enjoy this upgrade. Looks factory-stock inside. nbsp; a very clean and professional job of installation. Ready to drive anywhere now. PLEASE read entire description and look at all the photos as this truck is sold as-is and has no warranty or guarantee other than it will be provided with a clear. Oregon title (Once received from Oregon DMV) and is currently mechanically healthy and starts right up and drives very nicely. If you can. PLEASE do come and look at the truck in person before bidding and take it out for a test drive. I recently imported this Land Rover from the UK for the purpose of resale. Legally imported by me. nbsp; truck has passed all CBP/ DOT/ EPA inspections and Oregon DMV/ title application has been applied for and is coming in about 3 weeks in the mail. This is the only thing I do guarantee on this vehicle. a clear Oregon title for the buyer. I am a licensed and bonded Oregon dealer (Oregon license # DA4226) so you can buy with the confidence that you will receive vehicle title. This has already been scrutinized and passed by the government organizations that allow these trucks (Or do not allow) into the country. nbsp; so this truck will not have problems in the future with this. This truck has spent a good deal of its life outside the UK. and in much drier climates (Africa. I was told) . nbsp; and as a result it is much more solid and rust-free than most that arrive here. For example. nbsp; there is none of the door rust which usually plagues these trucks. Bottoms of doors are solid. without a trace of rust. nbsp; and no bubbling of paint on outer door skins anywhere. Windows operate smoothly and easily. FRAME has had repairs in the past. but is currently solid and needs no repairs. BODY has many dents and digs. from very minor to larger dents. There is a spot on the left side rear corner where the body was knocked in from the bumper about 1/4". It is all what I consider to be 'small damage'. nbsp; but it is all over. Truck was definitely used as intended. I would guess. off road/ etc. Paint has faded in areas. and a few panels are of a different hue of blue. which indicates that they have been repainted. As you can see. they entire body has a heavy duty ROLL CAGE already fitted. Would be easy to fit a roof top tent on a floor on the top if you wanted. Has rock sliders built into the bottom of the cage. Rear tire carrier is a swing-away variety to save the back door (Which is still nice and not rusted out) Inside. nbsp; the seats look very nice and original. Yes there is a tear here or there. BIG steel center locking console with CD player/ radio head unit lockable inside. Best of all in my opinion… Real cup holders! This is officially a viable daily driver// commuter truck. Stereo even sounds good. Much effort was put into soundproofing this truck. RUST: I have found rust on the left side front footwell. It appears that this was the result of smacking in the floor about 1/4" with a hammer to clear the 200tdi exhaust . as opposed to water ingress. The heater core was leaky when I got the truck. and was leaking right onto this spot. too. I will try to take decent pictures of this area. but it is small and isolated to the passenger-side corner of the front footwell and looks like an easy fix. Transmission shifts perfectly and is quiet in all gears. This truck has the 1. 2:1 LT230 transfer case. nbsp; which with these tires is a bit sluggish taking off from a stop of going uphill. nbsp; but you do get very long legs for freeway driving. If you prefer a 1. 4:1 LT230. I can substitute that into this truck for about an additional $1000. All electrics work. nbsp; except so far I have not been able to get the fog lights to come on. I've left the truck parked outside in the rain a few times and it does seem to leak inside the truck on the driver side floor. Looks to be a windshield seal. or coming through the door seal. I have not investigated it much yet. and it does not have a 'rusty history' there to suggest this has been happening previously for any length of time. Tires are in excellent condition. nbsp; and large as you can see. Slight lift with newer springs and shocks on all 4 corners. Steel extra-wide wheels in good condition. nbsp; wide fender flares necessary to accommodate the wheels and tires. Dash has cracks as does some dash plastic. a result of the hot climate this truck lived in. That said. it does not look terrible. just used. Headliner looks great. like new. Door panels are straight and look good. Rubber floor mats have some cracking but still look good.
