The legend reborn and updated for the 21st century in 1993 Land Rover would bring 535 Defender 110s into the North American market. 500 were in the United States, 25 went to Canada, and 10 were for promotion and media. 533 were white and 2 were all black, Stock they had a whopping 185HP 3.9 v8, and a manual 5 speed transmission with a sparse interior, void of luxuries that are common place now.
This is number 2. It was purchased and brought to NY where it was driven and enjoyed for over 2 decades. Unfortunately Defenders don’t fare well in the harsh climate of the New England winters. The rust and decay was spread all through this vehicle it was so bad that it had suffered extreme frame decay to the point the rear was completely broken off. The body had multiple dents and holes, along with the dreaded door bottom rot.
Complete top to bottom restoration was completed March of 2017. The vehicle has been stored inside a climate controlled storage keeping the restoration looking fresh.
About the rebuild and restoration, the vehicle was carefully taken apart and taken all the way down to the frame, and then treated to a Marsland galvanized frame. At the same time the bulkhead was replaced to the modern PUMA style with excellent heat and air conditioning vents that help keep the inside a comfortable temp year round.
The majority of the body was treated to updated, new take off and new panels. All of the body was painted in separate pieces, and then carefully re assembled on the chassis. The interior was treated to a color matched linex surface in separate pieces then assembled. The outside was painted with high grade paint using a combination of Mercedes and Land Rover paint colors, the Designo Magno Monza Grey (Matte Finish), and Java Black for the hood and the roof. The exterior roll cage was replaced with a brand new on, and all hardware was replaced with Stainless hardware. The rear NAS bumper was swapped out with a newer one as well. The inside was treated to Dynamat throughout to help with sound control. In place of the factory back glass was swapped and upgraded to Masai glass.
The complete original drive train was scrapped and in its place is the heart of America muscle was installed. It now has an LS1 turning out low 400hp, with a 4l80e transmission. Brand new transfer case with all new heavy duty drive shafts. All of the axles have been upgraded to heavy duty parts from the ring and pinion, axle shafts and CV’s. To make sure it can stop it has all new brakes consisting of red calipers, along with vented and slotted rotors. Mounted to the 20 inch satin black rims are Cooper Discovery ATRs
The inside was upgraded now featuring 7 leather seats, featuring heated seats in all 3 rows. The new black/red leather is very supportive and has a very nice texture to it. Black Leather with red stitching on the dash, door panels and trim pieces. The Suede headliner above, and the plush leather protected by the heavy duty factory rubber floor mats. It now has power windows in the front and back, along with keyless entry, more options never offered in a defender through the factory. Kenwood stereo with DVD, Bluetooth back up camera etc. Several charging points have been added along with a very nice JL speaker and audio system providing great musical sound in the truck.

I am sure I missed a ton of the little details in the list. Everything was done to make this a one of a kind vehicle that’s as comfortable in the city, the highway or at the ski lodge. I have hundreds of photos available upon request, and happy to pick you up from the local airport for personal inspection. If this one isn't exactly what you want, we have 2 more builds currently under way as well as 130s, 90s and many other brands of vehicles being customized to a level of detail beyond reproach.
