Description

Note on my less than perfect feedback:My feedback score has dropped from 100% because ofa malicious retaliation by a buyer who refused to pay my dealer processing fee but didn't want to cancel the sale either. In this particular case the car was of very low value (in the hundreds of dollars not thousands, so the $199 processing fee was a significant percentage of the total for me (like 50%) and I was already losing money on it so the processing fee was merely making my loss smaller. This was an old ford focus that sold for $400 plus $199 processing fee, I had like $750 in the car, so waiving the fee would make my loss unacceptable and undervalue the car significantly besides being a matter of principle. This whole argument was lost on the buyer and he thought I was ripping him off by charging the fee which was clearly disclosed in large type in the listing anyway. Now he is selling cheap cars on ebay himself and charging a 199 processing fee!).
I reported the buyer to ebay for leaving malicious feedback but ebay didn't remove it,it is well known if you are a seller on ebay thatebay does not protect sellers against manipulative buyer practices. I am including this statement to explain my recently diminished feedback rating. Please read the full listing including terms and conditions at the end before bidding.
This sale is not subject to my dealer processing fee of $199 anyway.
This 1988 Land Rover Defender 110 was recently imported from Italy. It is original LHD with the 2.5 turbodiesel engine, County spec with sunroof and LT77 gearbox, british built defender not a santana, there are many of those being listed as defenders on ebay. Reserve is the most reasonable you will find.
VIN is SALLDHMB8EA324829. Fully legal import with customs clearance documents, the vehicle will be sold with a clear Virginia title in my dealer business name. Odometer reads 245000 kms, which is 152000 miles.
The Defender has no rust, it was repainted in Land Rover Fuji White (2012 model year color) . There is just a spot or two of the 'contact corrosion' on door skins that anyone who is familiar with these vehicles will know about. It happens due to aluminum door skins on metal frames.
I can include 5 boost alloy wheels with center caps for only 400 dollars (they are used but in very good condition, just a few scratches maybe and 400 is what I paid). I am also getting aluminum spacers front and rear, 25 new lug nuts and an LED light kit as well as a paddocks spare wheel cover (total cost for these items is about 460 dollars), all can be included at what I paid for them if buyer wants to install alloys. I think the alloy wheels, painting the grill and wheel arches black will break up the white on this vehicle. They painted the hubs and lugs white too which they shouldn't have but its pretty easy to fix that.
It has been repainted but not restored so it is not perfect but a solid running and driving vehicle. Has nice Michelin tires all around with good tread. No problems starting and no smoke of any color from the exhaust even under hard acceleration.
Frame is all solid as are door bottoms, floors, all the usual areas of concern on Land Rovers are in good shape.
These vehicles are by no means meant to be fast but I felt acceleration was a bit slow on my test drive, was ok once it got up to about 40 mph. Could possibly use some diesel pump tuning to get a little more acceleration, throttle felt a bit restricted.
Gearbox shifts fine and 4Lo, differential locks engage as they should. Heater blower works fine.
Driver's door window channel probably needs replaced as it's a bit hard to get the window all the way up, but it does go up with a little help. Dash pad has a few minor cracks (see picture), could be covered with some vinyl strips though it's just 'character' for an unrestored vehicle. Headliner is a little dirty but in decent shape. Door cards are not perfect but serviceable. Overall the interior is in good condition for it's age.
Reasonable price, the LHD 110s that are old enough to import are very difficult to source overseas and this one was no exception. Serious buyers only. I am a Virginia dealer and this car has a Virginia title but it is stored in Dundalk, MD and will be delivered or shipped from Dundalk, MD.
