Car description

Rare Stage One Series III Defender, rivately imported, ully legal with title. Currently registered and inspected in Vermont. Frame and bulkhead in good condition, ilm undercoated. There appears to be a flooboard patch of very thick metal on the passenger side. 3.5 Litre V-8 runs very well and has twin Zenith Stromberg carbs. Radiator recently restored, new higher output alternator, new battery. Sound deadening and heat insulating material installed in most of interior. Needs a new heater valve assembly, urrently bypassed. Stored winters, riven only in summer. Purchased from a Land Rover mechanic and regularly maintained. Brakes are drums on all four wheels and need the fronts adjusted because it pulls to the right. E-brake works. Has a new muffler. New Bluetooth am-fm-cd unit, ot hooked up but mounted. Directionals need a new blinker module. Comes with module and bulbs/other parts.Brand new bench seats in rear need to be installed. This vehicle has been driven on several long trips, 00+ miles with no issues. As previously stated, he frame and bulkhead are good and it does not appear to have been involved in any collisions other than the minor ding here and there. The Defender Stage One is essentially a 109" Land Rover Series III, ut with a full-time 4wd system and a V-8, rom the factory. I believe the drivetrain to be all original. It has the indestructible 4-speed transmission, nd the clutch is excellent. It does not have power steering and the brakes are drums on all four wheels. Land Rover purposely detuned the 3.5 V-8, ost likely because it has drum brakes. The engine can easily accept an Edelbrock performer intake manifold and a 4bbl carb, ut if that is done it should be fitted with upgraded brakes. The rare Stage One was a transitional model between the Defender and the Series III, o expect Series III driving characteristics and a lack of luxuries. I drive it every week and it gets a lot of looks and comments.NOTE: THIS IS A USED VEHICLE SOLD AS-IS WITH NO WARRANTY OR RETURNS. IT IS THE BUYERS RESPONSIBILITY TO FULLY EXAMINE THE VEHICLE TO THEIR SATISFACTION PRIOR TO PURCHASE."
