The door rails appear to be new also, s no sign of rust at all.ENGINE/MECHANICS;3.5 V8 petrol engine running standard twin carbs. This is such a sweet engine. It starts the very first turn of the key with minimal choke needed, nd settles to a steady idle straight away. Very nice running engine, t the correct temperature with no overheating. Drives exactly as it should. 5 speed manual gearbox, gain with no issues and this one has power steering too, hich I presume must`ve been added at a later date. Clutch and steering are both as they should be, nd amazingly, here are no leaks from underneath, s this Defender doesn`t mark it`s territory like most! 4x4 works correctly too.INTERIOR;Standard Defender seats in good order, ith a complete dashboard. The rear looks well, nd has all been painted the same Fuji white as the exterior. The door cards would be described as shabby at best, ut these are relatively inexpensive to replace if chosen to do so down the line. Also, he speedo has stopped working recently. It must`ve been in the last few months, s the mileage now is higher than it was when last MOT`d. This is a typical Defender problem, nd is generally down to the speedo cable or drive.
