Possibly one of the rarest Jeep CJ5 of the 70s Although I have slightly modified the seat and put a different set of wheels I have not seen another one like it.A total blast to drive! This Jeep was born as an airport tug or as a special vehicle that was used to pull and park airplanes in the 70s This belonged to a small airport for commercial flights around the Inland Empire county This is the only one known to make it out of there alive I believe the airport commissioned Jeep to make 4 Jeep TUGS to be built 3 of them were dismantlement once the airport was closed down. I have never seen another one like it. 3663 original miles on the original engine.I probably put about 50 miles myself just driving it around the community where I liveThis Jeep was used only inside the airport so the engine has very low miles. Engine runs absolutely great, tarts right up and pulls great.I have changed the engine oil put a new filter I have also replaced the fluids in the transmission and the transfer case. The 4 speed transmission shifts great and transfer case works perfectly and very smooth. This is obviously a 4x4 Jeep that has also has a granny gear that was engineered to pull old airplanes so you can imagine what kind of traction it has.Although it is a 4 speed car, hen I drive it I used the 2nd gear to go since the 1st gear is extremely short. The jeep can be driven as a regular vehicle when on 2x4 and as an extreme off road vehicle if you engage the 4x4 and the grannyThe 4x4 front mechanism is very smooth works perfectly and very easy to turn. What I did to the car:The seat was originally a long beach that extended all the way on top of the rear fenders. I might have a picture of the car when I originally purchased about 5 years ago.I shortened the bench in order to reveal the rear fenders to have a contiguous like going from the front to the rear.I also changed the skinny original wheels for a set of vector 15x8.5 all around ...I liked the look so I kept it that way. I do not have have the original wheels any longer. This Jeep had an hardtop that was basically a rectangular piece of metal same color of the car.The hardtop was bolted with 2 bolts on top of the windshield frame and in the back on top of the roll bar The hardtop was the only piece that was rusted so I junked it.There is no rust throughout the whole car. I meticulously inspected it up and down and found none. The original fuel tank was heavily leaking so I had to put 2 boat fuel thanks in the back in order to test drive the car and make adjustments I purchased a brand new fuel cell tank that can be installed where the original tank was, he fuel cell tank is included.I will post just a few pictures and will get more in the next days to come. I also have several videos of this Jeep in running mode.and I will add them to the auction. The Jeep is located in my house and chances re it will be staying here for some time.I doubt I will bring it to my warehouse in GardenaFor anyone truly interested please contact me via Ebay to set up an appointment for inspection and test drive. This THING is a total blast to drive and I am still reluctant to let it goI will updated the auction with more info if any or if needed TITLE: I am still working on the title docs. I do have all the paperwork the that I need to bring in at the time of CHP inspection. The jeep needs a set of seat belts and the seat which are important components in order to register the car for on road use.Local pick up only I can help with coordinating with a shipping company the buyer is responsible to contact and coordinating pick up.A grace period of 2 weeks is giving as a maximum time to hold the car.Full payment is expected within 72 hours from the end of the auction a paypal non refundable deposit of maximum $300 is mandatory within the first 24 hours from the end of the auction
