Car description

The 1979 CJ5 Anniversary Edition was a special edition Jeep CJ5 made to commemorate its 25th anniversary. It is one of the rarest Jeeps ever made as there were only 1000 produced, and there are only 179 confirmed to still exist. This Jeep is number 28 on the CJ5 Silver Anniversary Registry: http://www.79silver.com/79_Silver_Registry.htm
This CJ5 had a complete frame off restoration a few years back and has been babied ever since. The restoration included all new steel - new galvanized frame, new tub, new fenders, new grill, and new tailgate. There is zero rust or bondo on this Jeep. The engine was also professionally rebuilt and runs great. The roar of that beefy 304 V8 is awesome! The odometer read 54K at the start of the restoration. The gauges have also been replaced so the odometer currently shows around 4K. It comes with a full Bestop Supertop and soft doors, a Bestop bikini top, and a cover.
It has always been garage kept and covered and only taken out for "Sunday drives" or to be trailered to car/Jeep shows.Speaking of shows, this Jeep has won best in show at several mid-East Jeep and car shows including PA Jeeps in York, PA (over 500 Jeeps) and came in second in the CJ5 class at the prestigious Bantam Jeep Heritage Festival (about 2000 Jeeps). This is a show quality perfectly restored piece of Jeep history.
In full disclosure - the carburetor does need to be rebuilt as it has developed a case of leak down which just means the fuel slowly leaks out of the bowl so if it has been sitting a few days it needs a shot of starting fluid to start it up. After that it will run great with no issues starting... until it sits for a few days. This is the only known "issue" at all with this Jeep but it hasn't been that much of an inconvenience for me which is why I never got around to having the carb rebuilt.
I have a binder full of receipts documenting all work done during the restoration including a complete listing of $29K in parts and receipts for everything. I also have a professional classic car appraisal that was done in 2017 valuing this Jeep at $35,000. Make me a reasonable offer and this Jeep can be yours.
