RARE and ORIGINAL (not restored) 1978 CJ7 LEVI EDITION. This Jeep has been in the family for 40+ years. Stored indoors at a vacation home most of it's life. All original. Very low mileage. This is FULLY LOADED: Original LEVI interior, Hard Top, solid doors, Stock 304 V8, Power Steering, A/C, QuadraTrac AWD, Orig AM/FM 8 Track w Pioneer Speakers, Tachometer, original Gold Rims, stock height, roll bar, all the GOLDEN EAGLE options it is believed to be a Golden Eagle or Limited Edition with the no large hood decal option. Very well maintained. I have driven this Jeep and helped maintain it since 1979. Extras: Have a full matching soft top (no frame), and a nice matching bikini top, and Tow Bar however I have never towed it. According to the QuadraTrac owners manual, you can flat tow it.
Recent work: Complete tune up, fluid changes, new leaf springs (I have originals if you want to re-spring them), new carb (I have orig), new radiator, and new shocks.
To point out less than excellent items: Drivers seat seams are starting to show wear, Front right fender had a minor mishap years ago and has a bend/crease in it, The QuadraTrac has some minor stick slip when turning sharp however I am told fluid and some AMS additive helps, A/C not charged, minor nick and dings in original paint.
Honestly, I have never seen an original JEEP like this one. I get thumbs up everywhere I go. No disappointments. They are only original once and this one is so nice, you can just do as I have done and keep it nice...and original. it looks SUPER!
Clear Title in hand. CA registration is current. Note, no smog cert since it spent its life in Mammoth Lakes CA, and smog is not required in Mono County. However, to my knowledge it has all the original smog equipment on it. I have the JEEP in Carlsbad CA now Zip 92011 for shipping. I will assist with a pick up.
I have had classics all my life. Restored vehicles are cool, however originals are becoming very sought after. This CJ7 is not your average original Jeep...this is a RARE fully loaded Jeep! I have looked and looked, and never seen the same one with the same options. The closest was one, same color, LEVI interior, wheels, gauges, steering wheel, however it was a Straight 6 and manual trans. So, it is priced accordingly, and I am firm on the price. What can you compare the price to? I have seen no comps. It sure seems to be a solid investment. These older 4WDs are even popular with the younger crowd.
