Description
RARE 2-door 1977 Jeep Cherokee4.2 liter 6 cylinder. Runs good, however, one cylinder isn't receiving power. (Needs a new distributor; brand new can be purchased from Rock Auto for $42.) Original motor was replaced with one from a 1986 CJ7 last fall (mileage on motor unknown). Possible exhaust leak. Needs tuned - the engine has not been properly tuned and spark plugs have not been replaced since the newer motor was dropped in. After-market carburetor, new radiator, alternator and flex plate.
Body is STRAIGHT. Minor damage to driver's side wheel well where I lost a tire while driving.Tailgate has significant rust - COMES WITH A REPLACEMENT, RUST-FREE TAILGATE (see pictures)
Known history: Spent most of its life in Montana. My brother purchased the Jeep for my dad 10 years ago. My dad kept in the garage in Colorado. I bought the vehicle about 18 months ago, replaced the motor, flex plate and other minor parts. It pains me to sell - but it needs a home with someone who can keep up with maintenance and has the time, money and knowledge to restore or restomod it.
