FOR SALE: 1981 JEEP J10 4X4 SPORTSIDE FRAME UP RESTO MOD
This Jeep is a frame up restoration with only 972 miles. A NOS speedometer was installed during restore. Way too many new parts to list, but the highlights include: rebuilt .040 over 360 cid motor with Edelbrock manifold and Holley Truck Avenger carb, rebuilt trans, brakes with stainless steel lines, most weather-strips are new, new carpet, new headliner, 3 inch OE roll bar, 3 inch tube rear bumper. The truck bed, the floor under the carpet and the bottom of the floor up to the firewall break is Line X-coated. Has a 3 inch lift kit with Rancho Shocks, new 33X12.50 15 BFG All Terrains on 10 inch American Racing Wheels. Laredo front seats with OE center arm rest and Retro style radio, (looks Vintage with modern features) keeps the interior looking sharp.
This truck runs very well, and all mechanical systems operate correctly, including the A/C, heat, 4X4 and the fuel gauge. All components were either replaced, repaired or rebuilt.
This project was completed about a decade ago, and practically never used. This truck wasvery solid, so it made for a great project and with the addition of the Sportside box, it gave it a look that you don’t see very often. This truck turns heads wherever It goes! I built it as a daily driver and it just got too nice to use it that way. So it mainly just stays parked. It has started to show some age, chrome valve covers, and air cleaner are starting to pit, rear fenders are developing weathering flaws. (not visible in photos, but up close you can see them) These items are not issues unless your planning on making it a show truck only. I elected to keep the tailgate bolted shut since I knew it wouldn’t be used but I have new gate chains with covers for it that are included.
This truck has a clean title. I have all the parts records. It is one of 3,719 short box J10’s (119-inch WB) pickups built in 1981. Of which probably less than 10% were Sportside.
If you are a serious buyer, let me know if you need other photos.
