Up for auction is a beautiful and well preserved one owner 1977 Jeep Cherokee Chief S Wide-Track. with Quadra-Trac full time 4WD and the desired 401 V8. The single year Tawny Orange and saddle interior compliment this vehicle well. making it an absolute head turner. The body is incredibly straight with a zero accident history. The non-smoking interior is entirely factory original and in immaculate condition. Some wear to the driver's seat bolster. as photographed. A complete and extensive repair history binder (over 100 receipts) of routine dealer maintenance and repairs is included. The vehicle starts and runs out nicely. with smooth gear changes and brakes straight and true. The steering has some play. but no attempt has been made to diagnose. The only modifications from factory stock are the dealer installed spare fuel tank (with an approximate combined 50 gallon fuel capacity. Edelbrock carburetor. Omni Pak ignition coil and wooden inlays on luggage rack. All exterior lights. dash gauges. warning lights and dials function properly (with the exception of the cruise control and temperamental clock). Rear cargo window operates from both dash and rear key controls. The air conditioning system blow cool. but not cold. I will include a can of R12 if I am unable to locate my tapper hose and re-charge the system prior to auction completion. Vehicle runs at optimal temperature with no signs of overheating. keeps strong oil pressure. with no exhaust smoke and the carb and timing has been set for high altitude. Spending its entire vehicle life in California and Colorado. neither issues of corrosive rust or rot are evident with factory undercoating intact. The factory paint shines after a compound/buff and wax. It is my belief the hood was reshot at some point over the years. and stone chips were spot checked and cleaned up on the nose. r. panels and fenders to match the existing condition of the original paint. The windshield and all glass is clear with no cracks/stars and the matching Michelin tire set shows 85+ % tread life remaining. Original owners manual and factory service manuals are included. Review the factory brochures below for information on the option "S" package. and scan of the original owner title upon moving to CO in '88 and prior to transfer. Overall. simply a beautiful and honest example of a FSJ Cherokee maintained by a proud and attentive owner. With charm and period good looks. it is certain to bring the new owner further years of proud ownership. You will find very few FSJ Cherokees still enjoying the road. and even fewer still in this well-kept condition. Not a rare model in production numbers -- but certainly a hard to find well preserved example. Would easily pass as a 46k original mile classic (and frankly. most would list it this way). I am not a Jeep aficionado -- just a guy who likes iconic and eclectic classic vehicles. While not 100% perfect. it is dependable enough to be used as a daily driver if called upon. and certainly a vehicle which belies its 38 years of existence. If you desire a turnkey Cherokee rather than the typical project. then you just may be looking at it below. Its a durable. powerful and simple wagon which can go threw (or over) anything. Cool to drive and unquestionably commands attention -- often inducing strangers to approach inquisitively. Essentially it's a life size Tonka! Would make the ultimate UT alumni tailgating vehicle. Please review the photos below as I feel they are the true representation of the overall condition of the vehicle. Ask any and all questions prior to placing a bid and I will answer them as quickly and honestly as possible. Inspections are certainly welcome also prior to auction ending -- not after please. as this auction is to purchase and not to simply hold. If you require this vehicle to be shipped. nbsp;I have had great luck shipping/receiving vehicles through www. uship. com. I certainly do not intend to exclude anyone from bidding. but "zero bidders" are discouraged from placing a bid (learned unfortunately through years of non-payments) without contacting me prior to placing a bid.
